My husband and I went to a garden this weekend. I was trying to take some photos of a realy pretty flower and used macro mode. I had the auto focus on because honestly Im not to familiar yet with the advanced features of this camera as I just got it on Friday. So instead of focusing on the flower the flower was blurry and the background was sharp. WHY??? What was I doing wrong here? I got several good shots and couldnt get this particular flower into focus. Thanks in advance for any advice on getting it to work better next time around

Maybe you were too close to the flower? Not sure. On my point and shoot, there's a little box that shows you where the focus is. Does your camera have this?

I have the same camera and I occasionally have this problem if I am getting too close or not locking the focus onto what I want. I actually turned on my guides this weekend to help me get it right.

i have this camera too...since Christmas. I've never tried any other mode other than normal auto...i'm so not up to more advanced at this pt. I do know when I zoom though I need to wait a few seconds for it to come into focus.
