Just wondering, are you all permanently abandoning your 2Peas accounts?
And what about the galleries - will you still be posting there?

Your thoughts..

Holly

I havent killed my account, and I haven't taken my layouts down that I have there. I'm blasse' about it maybe? But I don't know that I'm going to load anything else up.

I only have about a dozen pages there as it is. I'm not sure if I will take them down. If there is going to be a gallery here, I doubt I'll continue to upload to 2Peas.

I haven't killed it, but I haven't uploaded anything new for awhile.

Once this gallery is up and running...I will transfer my stuff over here!

I'm so shocked that 2Peas doesn't seem to care about all this. Looks like people are really making the move and I applaud Shanonn for putting up this forum - much needed...but once their digiboards are empty what are they going to do?

I doubt that if they wait much longer to change any rules that people will go back! (hee hee)

Hey Holly,

Tell me about flicker...is it easy to transfer???

My gallery is still up there, but I haven't posted a new layout in a long time. I'm just hanging out where you all hang out.

I think they want to start afresh with some new digi scrappers to "condition".

But please, don't get me wrong...I really like Rhonna's style and her gg's are along the same lines, hence the Autumn Leaves comment, and I will probably still purchase her stuff cause it is just really cool! :D :D :D

I'm keeping my gallery there for now too. I agree with Gina, it has more of my stuff than anywhere else. Also, I've made some good friends in the gallery. Now, I'll be posting here as well when the gallery is up and running though. I'm just sad to leave my first digi home for good....have to keep some ties for now at least.

I've still been posting my LO's there... it's my complete gallery as well. I do have most of my layouts uploaded to DigitalFreebies and Scrap2Gether --- but for example ---- at 2Ps I was able to post my 8 pg Fathers Day book in 1 posting.. no cluttering of the gallery w/ 8 pages from me. At other sites, I don't even have the option to post 8 pages in one day  so not really sure....

Yeah, I'll keep my gallery there too... I have too many to transfer though if it's really necessary, I could just delete it I guess... I have my own gallery over at Ztampf! - but only digi stuff... not my paper stuff from the time before I got into digi! Hmmm...

GinaMiller
06-19-2006, 06:45 AM
Yeah that's completely their plan. All of this big-name companies are getting into digital (there was an article in CK this month) and 2Peas is hoping to 'condition' all of the new paper-t-digital girls into paying $15 for kits (which btw, I do too... but they are going to try to tell these new digis it's "the norm"). Why do I have a feeling they are going to succeed? That's why they could give to flying figs (to borrow a term from my Mom!) that we all just left.

I think a gallery here would be awesome!! I am still unsure about my gallery over there. Mostly paper work, but I have albums, DT work and I am not sure I want to lose it all.

I know going to $15.99 seems wrong (especially for us budget scrappers), but wouldn't it be a good thing for designers - you'll get more money for your kits as the market pays more. Or will it be killing small designers? Is it going to be like Walmart of the digi-world?

I wonder if 2 peas will care when TONS of the digi gals remove their layouts? Surely, they would. It would have to impact their digital sales...right? I am trying to make sense of what is going on over there.

I have thought about removing my layouts, I am on the fence.

For now, I hope people will still post to 2peas. I will go there to look at the gallery but here for everything else. It still seems to be the one place that most people post but that may be changing with all of the problems there with the digi community.

caridura
06-19-2006, 07:03 AM
Yup...I bet they will be carrying all the BIG companies' digi scrap stuff and sell it for $15 and UP. Frankly, I just can't pay $15 for every kit I buy. I like a wide variety of kits and at $15 a pop, that would cut down on how many I can buy. There are plenty of gorgeous, high quality kits by designers out there for far less. I don't get the big difference in price range, to be honest.

Ooh I didn't know there was going to be a gallery here too! Man that would be great, I was going to post asking what's the best gallery. Right now I have some old stuff at SBB and some old stuff at two peas, and I haven't posted anything at all recently. I'd love to have everything in one spot, forums and all :) Can we have several days of uhhh...flooding grace period? :P So we can update our galleries? Will this site have the capacity for that kind of thing? Am I getting ahead of myself?

If 2 Peas does indeed become the Wal-Mart of digi scrapping....all I can say is that Wal-Mart doesn't offer coupon codes, special sales, blog freebies or anything like that. (That I've seen.) The only thing that is personal about Wal-Mart are the occasional employees that I know.

I, for one, will only be keeping my gallery at 2 Peas for some CT work that has to be posted there. I've kept my SBB gallery as up-to-date as 2 Peas, so I'm going to call SBB my home gallery.

It would be great if everyone here had a link to their main gallery in their sigs... where ever you choose to have it.

Ahhh choice, its a wonderful thing! Oh and clickable linking, love that!

You know though. I don't know if it's been noticed but that dotscrap site has a listing for scrapbook.com, not 2Peas. Could they be working with other companies then?

I will move here when the gallery is ready. I also have a gallery at SSB and they both pretty much have the same thing, so I don't think it will be much of an issue for me. It will just feel so good to leave it completely and let them know that how they treat people matters. We are intelligent gals and we are not buying the "party line" that is being enforced on us, but not anyone else.

06-19-2006, 08:48 AM
I think I'll have to continue posting at 2peas as long as the designers I'm on CTs for ask me to. I have to think though that they'll soon realize that this site is THE place to post though and not require 2peas posting.
Once the gallery is up here, it will most definitely become my home gallery and only CT layouts will go to 2Peas.

I don't think I'd bother transfering older pages here though. Just start fresh!

we as designers need to band together and let those big company folks know that they can't take us down.

Brand new people who have never done digital, but bought that magazine that said the beginning of digital coming summer or whatever it said. why should we allow them to be fooled?

Digital isn't just starting! Its been a few years of solid stuff now. We as designers should get ourselves a freaking full page add in the next digi scrapping magazine. All as one - to let people know that digital designers
aren't just in it for themselves, we aren't trying to be companies. We are just as much about the community and the people who use our designs.

I really think that is what two peas is trying to do, get us out of the door so they can mold "new" digi girls into buying these $15 kits rather than building a community of sorts

What a great idea Kristin! As I was browsing through CK, I was thinking how cool it would be for this site, especially once it's going full force, to have an ad or even a write up. Hadn't thought about a united digi ad though. You all could create a mega kit to pay for it.

Wow, I never even thought about all this "conditioning" and "brainwashing" of new digigirls that might be going on. That's a really interesting thought - I hope they wouldn't sink so low, but you never know.

Pretty much all my stuff is at 2Peas, but I've got a bunch at SBB, too. I'll probably wait until this gallery is up & running and move some stuff over, then stop posting there.

It's really a shame that people have to be so Nazi-like in their board-running. I thought the same thing Shannon did when I started my forum for BSD - that we can share where we found things, who's doing awesome stuff. Doesn't threaten me a bit. I mean, if I don't make rainbow-colored brads, why should I be upset if someone tells somebody where to find them?? Totally psycho, IMO.

Kristin that is a FAB idea!

Ok, I am soo torn on this... I have new LOs to post, and 2ps has always been the "home" for my LOs althoguh I do post at other various galleries too... just not sure where to hang my hat... lol! And I have a LO to post from this weekend too!! LOL!

Wow, I was just over at the 2peas site and the digi board is so quiet you can practically hear the tumble weeds rolling through the dusty streets. Kinda' creepy. In fact, I am left feeling kinda creepy about the whole place. Now the only people who are posting on the bb are the Garden Girls (most of whom I would see rarely or not at all before). I had to ask myself if I would have sold out if they had asked me to become a Garden Girl? I hope not. It kinda' reminds me of the whole prom queen, cheerleader junk back in high school. So, on that note I have decided it would just be hypocritical to post in the gallery there. And I won't be buying any of their $15+ kits so I won't be good advertising for them anyway. I love Kristin's idea of a full page ad and I will help support it however I can.

I think I am with Holly, I am just going to take it all down! My most complete gallery is at TDC and I only post there for my CT assignments, but there are lots of other galleries out there for that. Most of what I have there are paper layouts and I don't care if they are deleted.

I am deleting right now.....!!

You know, I think we have to give the soon to be converted to digi a little bit of credit. If they see products they like, they will hunt them down. I know I do. And most of the time, I see these products in the layouts that are being posted at 2peas. And once discovered, that will 'condition' them to check the 'other' digi stores on a regular basis, just like us. (I don't like that word 'condition'.)

I will probably continue to post at 2peas, and here when there is a gallery. But for right now I think I'm going to take a posting break and see what's what, kwim?

corina
06-20-2006, 04:04 PM
The ONLY layouts I will be posting at 2 peas are the ones for my CT stuff... and yes holly.... some designers require you to post there!!!!! Other than that, my other gallery is at the digi shoppe!

My most complete gallery is at The DigiChick, and there it shall remain. :) I've got some stuff at 2Peas, but like others I haven't added anything new there lately. Not sure if I'll pull what's already there--we'll see what happens, I guess.

For starters...Please do run an ad...I'll help in whatever way I can. I strongly believe in the digi community we have presently and want to see if flourish!!!

Secondly. the present designers need to market themselves in the major magazines as much as they can. If you guys are wanting to keep your pricing as affordable as you do now, others that are switching over from traditional to digital or those that want to stay traditional but print their own stuff need to be aware you are out there. The larger companies are gonna market the heck out of their stuff!!!

:)

My take on the gallery issue:

I think you all ought to keep posting to 2peas.

How happy would it make them to get rid of all those fab layouts that give credit to designers who charge $5.99 per kit? If they're planning on expanding to more big-bucks designers, of course they'd love to get rid of anything that would show their new customer base that they can get comparable-to-better quality products for a percentage of the cost.

BonnyJean
06-20-2006, 09:34 PM
I don't have much at 2peas, mostly because I never got any praise! lol I know my layouts aren't as good as some of you fabulous scrapbookers, but its still a bit disheartening to not get praise! lol so I stopped looking, sadly that meant I stopped giving praise too. I'm hoping to get out of that habit tho!

My most complete gallery is at 123-scrap (see my sig if you want!) that was my first scrapbooking home and I'm sticking with it!

I'm still going to post there. It's my most complete gallery - though I post everything at The Digichick as well now. Plus I think 2peas would be very happy to see the back of the independent designers so that is as good a reason as any to keep posting!

I hope you all keep your galleries there. Most have moved here for the discussions and forums which I think is great because of its openness. The galleries at 2peas is very fast and I love browsing through them for inspiration. Would be a shame if everyone took them down.
