Does anyone do birth announcements or the like?

I'm wondering if anyone does announcements. How do you charge? Do you print yourself (as in does your client get a hard copy of it) or do you send them the file so they do the printing themselves? If you print it for them, do you print at home, or do you send it out yourself? Thank you so much!

I have a friend who is NOT a digi-scrapper who does birth announcements, with a simple graphic design that she does herself... she charges $40 for an original design, $25 for one from her portfolio (putting pics in, pic editing etc). That doesn't include prints. She has a printer who does if for them, and she charges actual cost there, choses not to make profit from that part.

I do cards, invitations and announcements. I charge a one time design fee and then a printing fee as well. I send them out to be printed at a professional photo lab on photo paper. I am looking into some non-photo paper printing sources right now, too.

I used to do this. I used WHCC.com for announcements and they were great. The price is reasonable and the quality is amazing. :)
