I set mine up as a blogger blog. If you play with it enough you can set it up to look like a static site.
Wow, that looks really nice!!

Here's my site. I paid to have it done. I really wish I could have done it myself, but I didn't have time to figure out how to make what I wanted with teaching and running my business. I'm not done adding all my products or my layouts to my gallery.

Having your own website is a must if you are going to scrap for others. It is your online business card and information center. Here are a couple of suggestions.
1. If you are competent then you can build a website yourself. If you are not TOTALLY competent then hire someone who is. You will be promoting yourself as a professional designer so your site must be professional as well.
2. Buy a professionally designed template. This will still require you to have some HTML, CSS and possibly PHP or JavaScript knowledge. You will also have to be familiar with FTP software and directory structure.
3. Create a blog and find a free or pay for a nice theme. I know that the scrapbooking community tends to lean towards Blogger as their blog of choice but I suggest using Wordpress because it has much more to offer in the way of plugins, SEO and tools. Blogs are a fairly easy way to get started and Wordpress has several e-commerce plugins you could use as well as some gallery plugins to show off your pages.
Regardless of which way you go just be sure your site is professional and portrays the image you wish people to have of you and your business.
