View Full Version : Newbie looking for direction

I'm new to this. Now I know you all are prolly tired of newbies asking the same questions, but I'm hoping maybe you can tolerate a few more questions :)
I've done 2 pages using a tutorial and some freebie downloads. I scrap (paper/stickers.etc..), but I have so much to do that I'm thinking this may be a cool option for some of my trip albums, etc... So far I've not found an example of a "trip kit" with vacationey things. Also, I have Digital Image 2006 Suite, is this the same thing as Digital Image Pro folks talk about? When you do an album, do you try to stick to one kit to coordinate throughout the album or mix and match? I guess I'm looking for some completed album examples.....
Any help is appreciated, including links to tutorials for Dig Image. I was up till 1 am doing one page last night....then I knew I was in trouble!

Here are some Digital Image Suite (http://www.digiscrappingtutorials.com/Index.asp?Type_ID=5) tutorials.
I've only done 1 album, which was an ABC album for the grandparents. I used different kits in them. Was planning to do one of this year using one of the DigiScrapDivas' Mega Kit (http://digiscrapdivas.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=ac71831a3a331b901699383a312dc1c1) to try to keep it more conside, but still have a lot of choices in papers and elements.
There are also some albums w/QPs that designers have already assembled where people can just plop their pictures into for a quick album.
I'm kinda new to digi also, but I think it depends what you want to do. I am in the process of making a smal album for my husband to keep on his desk at work. It was supposed to be a father's day present but I'm alittle late lol. I also want to make an album of our recent disney vacation, but most regular everyday pics I will just make different LO's with diff. kits and have as much fun as I can then throw them all together in a book. :D

I do albums all the time, I just choose a theme to the album and go from there, some albums are all one kit, some have a color theme, some have a journaling theme, some have an element theme. It just depends.
Don't know anything about DIP, sorry, I'm a Photoshop gal.
As far as trip themes, I'd have to think about that, it's been so long since I've taken a trip, I haven't been looking for any, LOL!
And we digicrappers never tire of newbies, didn't ya know we're out to convert the world, welcome!! Ask any question, and you'll most likely get an answer!

Hi and welcome!
I have never done a digi album in the sort of theme like a Simple Scrapbooks album, but I have considered it!
Here's my Tahiti album I'm working on--I've only got a few pages and they are all different.
One of my favorite traveller's kits is Michelle Coleman's World Traveller Brushes from ScrapArtist.
