"Flora (http://store.scrapbook-elements.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=14688)", which is Latin for "flower", was the Roman Goddess of flowers and plants. Accordingly, the season associated with Flora was spring and early summer. She was also honored as a goddess of love, sensuality & sexuality, fertility and blossoming.
There were actually 2 temples in Rome devoted to Flora, one near the Circus Maximus and the other on Quirinal hill. Flora was usually depicted in light clothing, holding flowers, sometimes wearing a cornet of flowers.
