Do you print the LOs off yourself or do you have a third party do them for you? This is something I am trying to research to see what would be the better deal. I am thinking about getting my own printer and printing them myself. Please, any info would be great!

I do not do scrap for hire but I do have my own printer. I own an Epson R1800 and LOVE IT.
However, I do a lot of gift albums for people and I always have the prints done at costco.
Paint The Moom (Annie Manning) at O'scraps has a Costco action that will prepare your page for you to Costco's printing standards. It is wonderful.
The quality of the print is fabulous at Costco and it is only 2.99 per page. You can have them printed in a 12 X 12 size or a 12X18 size that includes 2 6X6 copies too. They are the same price.
I spend about the same amount of money with a printer because the paper is so expensive and the ink is expensive (you would not believe how much ink I go through.)
I am happy with my printer but find myself printing more and more at Costco. The finish is much nicer.
That is my take! Jana

I print my small LOs at home, but my 12x12 ones I have printed at gds. The quality is awesome, they offer a choice of different finishes, and their turn-around time is fantastic - a few days, and that's even for me and I am overseas.
You can find out more about it here (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=52)

I print at AdoramaPix.com and Costco depending on who has the better price at the time!
Personally, I don't care how nice your home printer is, I don't think it will ever look as good as a professional print job for layouts. Laying ink on TOP of paper just looks flat. For hybrid projects it's convenient and easier to work with, though. As a professional scrapbooker, I wouldn't give my client anything other than the very best print. I would never give a client a page I had printed at home. As a client, I would extremely disappointed to receive a flat non-professional print. I have heard that there are some home printers that look just as good as professional prints. So try yours out. Try printing one at home and print the same layout somewhere. Compare the quality. Compare the cost and then decide what works best for you and your clients.

I have heard good things about Costco but the nearest one is like 2 hours away. Would they be able to do things online and ship them?

I haven't done any scrap for hire, but I've been thrilled with every order I've had printed by http://scrapbookpictures.com/SBPView.jsp . Pricing I feel is reasonable for the quality and if you're having a bunch done, the flat rate for shipping is great. Color is adjusted by real humans, not a computer, and it shows. Beautiful prints.
