View Full Version : I did it - I bought an XTi today!
So, after reading all of your posts and researching cameras to the nth degree, I went out and bought the Digital Rebel XTi today. I was having such a hard time choosing......should I just purchase laterally and get the Canon S3 IS as it is similar to my Sony T1 that drives me crazy or should I go for it and buy the XTi which should last me longer than my Sony at 2 years. Now that I made my decision and jumped right in, I am freaked out. What if this camera is too much for me? Will I regret this purchase??????
Do you have any great websites that I could go to for support in playing with my new toy?
Thanks in advance,
Shannon:eek

You won't regret it! I've never taken any classes, so I can't point you to any. There is a HUGE difference w/a dSLR.
Enjoy!

Congrats on your new camera! :D I know it seems daunting right now but when you are more comfortable with it, you will love it! I upgraded from a Sony 717 so I know how you feel!
A good place to start... check out Canon's tutorials on how to get the most from your new camera

Thank you for all your posts. I really lost sleep over this purchase last night only for the fact that it may be more than I need. So, this morning, I woke up and took a few shots - on auto- and wow! the macro detail that comes through with this camera is amazing. I am impressed. I can't wait till later today to give it a whirl outside!
I haven't downloaded the software yet.....I hope it is not too confusing to interface with PSE 4.0.
