I know we've visited the idea of an NSBR/SBR forum section split many times over the past two years. And we've tried to keep it streamlined for as long as possible but my staff and I agree that now is definitely a good time to split the sections. We've gotten so many emails saying "I just come to DST for the scrap talk, not NSBR stuff" and then "The chatter section is just filled with ISO posts". So I think its probably a good time to split it! For those who like to keep it as streamlined as possible, we recommend using the New Posts feature (link in the top row of the forum). I hope this makes your "chatting" a little more enjoyable, no matter what you come to DST for! :D

I'm one of the "New Post" clickers...so it makes no difference to me!! :) I just skip what I don't want to read...

I hate the idea of splitting them up, I come here for the variety, and just like 2Peas it's going to get even more cliquey now.

I look forward to the change. Lately there seem to be more NSBR items than ever. Sometimes I just don't feel like dealing with them. Other times, no problem. Splitting the posts is a good idea.

Thank you!!! I'm here for the scrap... this community is too big for me to respond to NSBR threads and really feel connected to anyone anyways. I come here to enable and SHOP! :)

I think it's a good idea..this community has gotten SO big that the NSBR threads are kind of taking over some days.

If you use the new post button at the top of the forums, you won't be separating out different categories...I'm a variety kinda gal too, so I get it!!

I am happy for this, I will click on the new post thing too when I have time, but sometimes I just come here for the scrap chat.

Ditto, I like the variety, and I just skip the posts I don't want to read.

However, if you're going to split it that way, possibly make a place like a suggestion room or "ISO Place" for those posts, another place for NSBR and leave Chatter for scrapbooking talk. I LOVE all the suggestions that the ISO posts bring with them, though, and those posts ARE SBR.

I think ISO posts are pretty much SBR. :)

I just wish there was a way to make posts as read without going into them when you are looking at the "New Post" option. That way the ones I don't want to read don't keep showing up.

Rachel - there is the thread tools- Mark forums as read..have you tried that?

Yeah I will use that too, but sometimes there are just a few threads in a forum I want to mark as read. Not the whole forum. Not sure if that's option is even a feasible option as I have never seen it on any forum, but it would be nice to have! :)

Thanks

You can mark each forum read, as well, without marking all the forums read. Just go to the forum>forum tools>mark this forum read.

No - we can't have an option of just marking a thread read w/o going into that thread specifically.
