So...did this debate change your mind...or help you make up your mind?

No, it didn't change my mind in the least.

Didn't change my mind. I thought it was the least boring of all the debates which was surprising.

Last debate I swear I fell asleep five times. This time I actually thought it was a good debate. I think they should all be this format next time around.

I think I have come closer to my pick ... but still not 100% sure. I voted based on my *possible* pick.

Now I'm even more sure that Obama is the better choice.

Nope. Each debate leaves me more convicted in my choice.

I think if everyone could approach the election with the same experience I've had it would be so much more meaningful and less stressful. NO commercials, NO mailings, NO phone calls from pollsters, NO e-mails from supporters of either side blasting hate about the other. It's made doing the research interesting and educational and watching the debates essential. I know there are some in my own family who haven't watched any of the debates because they're deciding based on misinformation from e-mail smear campaigns. I'm not in any way suggesting that everyone would come to the same choice I've made - not in the least - I'm only wishing we could all have the space we need to make an informed decision.

I've seen blessedly few commercials (we mostly watch DVRed TV)
I've not rec'd a single phone call or mailing
I have rec'd emails directly from the Obama campaign but they haven't been hate-blasting.
I've found researching the issues a fine deal (I'm sort of obsessive about researching things by nature, so not against my norm at all) but the election itself will still be stressful to me, I think.

Gina....I'm in California, so we rarely receive any mailings, and hardly any commercials. I actually just saw my first commercial yesterday. It was one for Obama and it wasn't negative. I think they feel that we are blue, it's going to stay blue, so why waste any money here!!

Must be nice. When I lived in Arizona it wasn't quite so peaceful - either that or we inadvertently ended up on some kind of "Call me! Send me junk mail!" list. :)

T_a_l_i,
Just out of curiosity, and because most of the posters in here are rather passionate about their choice, I'd love to hear from you and others who are undecided, what it would take to get your vote. What is it that is holding you back on the candidates?

:) Tania - sure.
I'm a Democrat and have voted with my party in the past. I'll just start off by stating that.
I have issues with both candidates. I am not a fan of Obama's national healthcare plan, nor am I in tune with McCain's views on abortion or the war. Palin rubs me the wrong way, and to be honest, that is effecting my views on McCain.
I have been researching and researching the last few weeks, trying to fall in love with and believe in a candidate. And I am even more lost than before.
One of my biggest problems is getting straight facts anywhere. Too much of what I see is biased opinions, and that isn't helping me make a decision.
I'm not sure what it would take, at this point, to get my vote. :) I'm still working on getting answers, which is one reason I'm sticking my head in this section of DST. ;)

Thanks for answering!
If it's any consolation, Obama's health care plan is even less of a nationalized plan than many of the other democratic candidates (Hilary and Edwards specifically).
This site has a good side-by-side comparison on health care.

The only Mandates in Obama's plan are for children and for employers to pay into a system of provide coverage, with small business exception. If you compare that with nationalized programs like in Canada or across Europe, it's still pretty lax.
But as you can see, I support Obama, so I am biased too :)

If it's not too personal, I'd like to hear from the three who changed their choice after this debate. What was the deciding factor? Was it one thing? Several things? Or were you really undecided before the debate?
