Here in Florida, we just got our sample ballot for our area. I could NOT believe how many people are running for President. There are 13 different parties that I want to share with you. I am listing them as they are on the ballot.
Republican Party
Democrat Party
PARTY OF SOCIALISM AND LIBERATION
Peace and Freedom Party
Prohibition Party
Libertarian Party
Objectivist Party
Socialist Workers Party
Green Party
America's Independent Party
Ecology Party
Socialist Party of Florida
and lets not forget, Boston Tea Party
I was just floored at all the different parties and when reading about some, kind of scared me.
I actually know the person running on the Green Party, Cynthia McKinney. Some of you might know her if you are from Georgia or have seen her on national news. Please click here (http://libertymaven.com/2008/10/06/cynthia-mckinney-and-the-alleged-5000-dead-hurricane-katrina-inmates/2382/) to read her latest claim. It's been one of her best.
I am going to have to google the amendments because I can never understand how its stated on the ballot.

Ohio is the exact same way this election. It's so weird. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

I haven't seen the ballot yet, but this is interesting, thanks for sharing.
It sure would be great if some of these parties could get a little more money and support and have a chance to break the whole 2 party mentality that we've all fallen into.

Prohibition Party is the oldest third Party in US. It has been strong in US politics since the 19th century. The Prohibition Party has nominated two candidates to run for the honorable position of US President in 2008 Presidential Election. The majority of the Prohibition Party members has elected Gene Amondson while a faction of the Party has selected Earl Dodge. These decisions were taken in the Party national convention on 14th September, 2007.
The Prohibition Party has always preached the anti-alcoholism. They have always been a propagandist in temperance movement. Few of the moral issues, that this Party advocates include:
* The commercial sale of alcohol and harmful drugs should be banned
* The commercial gambling should be abolished
* The commercial pornography should be banned
* The Homosexual agenda should not be encouraged
* The Right to Life should be encouraged
* The Bible Reading should be made mandatory in the Public Schools
The Prohibition Party raises its voice on several domestic issues. These issues include the tax reformation, Ballot Law reformation, judicial reformation, finance reformation, upholding the Genuine Constitutional rights, restoration of State and Local rights. They also campaign strongly against judicial activism. They call for local control of schools, balanced Federal budget.
The Prohibition Party also addresses foreign issues. They are in favor of US sovereignty. They are also concerned about International Trade Agreements, the role of the United Nations.

Well, I learned something new today.

Wow, really? I can't believe that anyone would want to infringe upon the rights of other religions as much as to have reading the Bible mandatory in schools.
