His blog about Palin (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alec-baldwin/palin-on-isnli-what-did-y_b_136186.html)

Sure he throws a bit of rancor in there for the GOP (as expected), but not Palin. Good for Alec :D

Some people that used to irk me big time are surprising me in this election. What an exciting moment in history!

So much for a dignified discussion, eh? That's gone out the window. Oh well, we are talking about Alec Baldwin after all.

Hey isn't Angelia Jolie's dad a huge republican? I think I saw him on the Huckabee show. I hate celebrities thinking their endorsements are worth something. Baldwin is gross but at least he has some taste now I guess. ;)

Yes he is. And I thought Baldwin said if Bush was elected again he was going to leave the country? Did he leave and come back again? Did I miss it? Where is that moon icon.......hehehe

See my thing with Palin is that she may well be a very nice lady. In fact, she may be extremely likable. However, with her actions that have come to light recently and the way I have seen her act/react to things I do not think she should be anywhere near the White House. If something happened to McCain it would be very concerning for me to see Palin as our President.

Yeah, anything for a few laughs while working the room, right? LOL

Actually, during the opening skit on SNL last weekend I thought his distaste for her was what kept him so stiff & just staring ahead at the teleprompter or whatever it was off camera......when I saw him enter I was like "OK, here we go..." because he had just been on with Bill Maher and wasn't a big fan of Palin.

I really don't care what celebs think about the candidates. I prefer to think for myself rather than have the Hollywood Elite do my thinking for me.

Yeah he did seem a bit stiff. Wahlberg wasn't though. "Hey say 'hi' to motha for me." :lol:lol

I just can not stop saying that to anyone that will listen...I am a diehard Mark Wahlberg fan......if you close your eyes and listen to that skit you could mistake Adam Samberg for Mark Wahlberg! :D

Some of my girlfriends call my BF "Marky Mark" b/c he has a slight resemblance and I guess after a few cocktails the beer goggle effect takes over. :lol:giggle

You know, I know it was SNL and I know it was a skit and it was meant to be funny, but I just found his "you're way hotter in person" comment so condescending. Can you imagine them doing that to Obama if he'd come on?

You are absolutely right....I think she exposed herself, once again, in a way that is unbecoming of a Vice Presidential candidate......I am sure she has a sense of humor and loves to have fun but again, I find her behavior distatseful to have participated in those sketches......I would have preferred to see her do something else.

But wait, would I have been out of line to tell Barack and the Secret Service "You're much hotter than Jon Bon Jovi ever was!" as he entered Bon Jovi's driveway last month??? :blush:p:lol

I was speaking to my mom on the phone just before he pulled up and I said "Could you imagine if I said something boneheaded like....." and rolled out Barack being hotter than Bon Jovi ever was...my mom's answer was, "even the SS would know to take you in for a thorough examination or take your temperature at the very least"! LOL

My mom then said "Oh, no! I would marry Bon Jovi in a heartbeat!" LOL

I think this has been one of the most enjoyable threads yet, what was it about again?

All I can say is Marky Mark (The Italian Job) and Bon Jovi (yes, I'd marry him, too, just think if he were "old school morman" we all could!).

He's fallen off the wagon a few times during the campaign, but yes, he's a long-time smoker. It's one of the reasons why the actuarial tables don't show him as living to as high an age as McCain.

Someone at one of his rallies asked him how he was quitting because he needed to quit, too. Obama said he chews Nicorette (bet they were writhing in ecstasy at the Nicorette headquarters) and offered the man one. He pulled it right out of his pocket and tore off a bubble-packed piece.

Anyway, back to the subject of Alec Baldwin (and yes, I find him a bit repulsive, too) I was impressed by his writing and thinking skills because I never thought of him as all that bright :p. I think it's important to understand that he's likening her to Kissinger and telling us that he is horribly opposed to Kissinger's policies but that the person deserves respectful treatment in a forum that is not appropriate for debate.

I think, however, that he did get in a political zinger when he was allowed to treat her as a sex object. ("You're way hotter in person.") That she was a good sport isn't in question, but as a woman, I'd have liked to see some rejection of that statement by her.

Yeah, that's what really bothered me. I don't really agree with her on most issues, I don't like the way she's handling herself in this campaign, but really, she deserves more respect than that and her gender shouldn't be an issue. That was way worse than discussing Hillary's pant suits.
