I have done my part...my husband has done his part....and my 18-year-old DD has voted in her first election! How exciting for her first to occur during a presidential election year :wub

I will just be OH-SO-HAPPY when it is all over...and these commercials on television go away...on the radio go away...and we can JUST.GET.ON.WITH.LIFE. :smurf

Does your state allow early voting? I'm in Oregon, and we do it by mail...LOVE that!!

Ohio does but I worry about something happening to those ballots so I'm doing mine at the polling place on the 5th.

I did, too! I voted Tuesday -- just walked right in, didn't even have to stand in line. I know I heard on the radio that Nashville is breaking records for early voting, I think that's probably true for my adjacent county, too. Hubby had to stand in line this past Saturday. yay!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so relieved to not have to deal with it on election day.

does anyone know how that all works? I've been wondering about that . . . do they just put the ballots in stacks and wait until election day to do anything with them?

I actually won't vote early. In 1996, while in college, something happened after I had already voted absentee which would have changed my vote in the Presidential race had I not already voted. For that reason, I will always wait, if at all possible, until election day.

I voted early too...no line, no wait...I wanted to be sure there were no problems. If you can do it at all, by all means do.

I voted last week as soon as we could while the girls are at preschool, much easier. It would take an absolute miracle for me to change my vote:)

I mailed my ballot in a week or so ago. I thought they just let the mail pile up until election day. However, I *thought* I read this morning that early voting had been very favorable to Obama? So I don't know what happens.

Well, now....THAT question is not as easily answered as my vote for president was :) I TRIED to root for Washington Redskins since my hottie is playing there now, but it just seemed WRONG to me somehow. I guess, "Once a Dolphins fan, always a Dolphin fan." :lol That is also what my son, the die-hard Brett Favre fan, said this year when his idol did his retirement flipflop and landed in NY. DS is still a Green Bay fan :shrug

Now, if you're talking college football, it's gotta be the only football in town, baby...Boise State playing on the :smurf SMURF TURF :smurf :giggle Yes, it is really blue!! Go, Broncos!

I voted today, yippee! Of course, now I'm afraid that some life-changing, momentous announcement will be made by one side or the other that would totally change my mind, lol! But we're afraid that we may be out of town on election day, only getting back late, and I really don't want to depend on my civic spirit to get me to the polls if I've been driving all day. And yes, I know somebody's Grandfather rode 8 hours on a horse or walked 10 miles in a blizzard to vote in his day, so I'll admit I'm lazy and be done with it!

My husband and oldest son voted today. They will both be out of state on the voting day!! I'm waiting...I like being part of the crowds!

Two of my boys that are able to vote, didn't register. (or one may have...not sure). The 21 year old just doesn't understand enough (he has some learning difficulties), and he doesn't feel that he wants to right now. The other one is just the biggest procrastinator I've ever met. I won't do it for him!!

My 17 year old is ready to vote though! He is SOOOO bummed he can't vote this year.

:) I sent in my absentee ballot today. It took me awhile, but I finally made a decision on whom to vote for, for President. In South Dakota we also have a big abortion measure to vote on.

I'm glad I did my part. Now ... the waiting. ;)

Just a warning, die hard Cowboys fan here. Going all the way back to the Tom Landry days. (Don't get me started on how much I can't stand Jerry Jones.)

Jake and I were talking yesterday, and we figured out that the year he turns 18 (in September) is an election year. So yay, he can vote in 12 years. We hit that just right. LOL

I got lucky that way. I turned 18 in 1988, which happened to be an election year. That means this year, it will be 20 years since I cast my first vote.

My birthday is in October, but after the deadline for registering. Luckily, at least in NM, you can register to vote when you are 17, as long as you will be 18 at election time. I registered to vote about six months early. lol

WE most definately have had a record number of turn out his year, new registered voters and registered voters who hadn't either ever voted or didn't vote in the last election.

I am not exactly sure where you in GA. I am about 50 miles either way between Atlanta and Macon.
