View Full Version : Why don't the GG's get that we're confused?

I know it's a dead topic at this point cause I love it here, but....the GG's continue to say, "I LOVE IT HERE, SO MANY GREAT THINGS TO COME, and you have no idea what it takes to run a business and we should just all be patient." YET, all I want to know is why the TOU aren't clearly written vs. clearly acted upon. I just don't get it? I mean, I think everyone would have stuck it out if maybe everyone would quit being so defensive (both parties included) and just answer the question at hand. Why is one considered breaking it while the other isn't? And why can't the GG's just accept that is a serious issue? And say, "I'm sorry, we just don't know yet - we're working on that". I enjoy the styles of the GG's and I like them as designers, but this is putting icky tastes in my mouth. Makes me sad. Like we're being the bad guy for asking a question?
SIGH - so blue over this! And tired of being ignored or put off.

Its like talking to Borgs Holly. They've all been assimilated. Its like you have to agree to be reprogrammed in order to be a GG.
I CAN'T believe I'm using Star Trek analogies. my DH would be so proud.

I don't understand it either, Holly. It's like they're living in denial.

I totally agree. And this isn't just a recent digi problem either. They have not had the best customer service on the paper end of things either. Everything is out of stock all the time and they kept promising things would get better. "Just be patient." Well, I've heard that for almost 5 years and it's getting beyond old.

I'm a newbie, and was not a paper Pea first, but it doesn't take a genius to see each side is treated differently.
It's sad really - there was so much talent to learn from, the whole community could have been that much MORE.
i don't "get it" either.

it does remind me a little of the stepford wives....just creepy. i don't get it. i even pointed out a thread that is what i consider a TOU violation on Tania's thread and well, it's still there.

I was just over there and got so annoyed because they expect us to be SUPER excited about the unknown. I lurked at 2peas looong before I ever thought of posting and nothing has changed! Why should those longtime digi peas continue to hold out for empty promises??? :x

I love how GGs are coming over to the dreaded digi side and posting to protect the coven.

One of the GGs said that soo many Peas have made it "BIG" by being at 2Peas and being discovered. So, I guess we should all go back and get "discovered".

rhonna posts this:
I can't even count how many Peas that have made it 'big' have said, 'I got discovered from 2ps'
I hope we can change that here!!!

I personally think it's amusing who all is posting to the "who's staying here" thread. A lot of names that I don't usually see on the digi board...just like in the jungle, they are coming in trying to protect their herd!

I was wondering too. It seems alot of them are paper scrappers? Or am I wrong? I just don't recognize any of those but they have a high number of posts. :?:

I posted to the "who staying" thread only to let them know I will continue to lurk but that is pretty much it. I was really surprised to come here this morning and find that I wasn't the only one who was scared to post there...so we lurked. There are lots of us and they need to realize that!!! I posted further down that the digi community has such amazing designers that create & share...but they probably don't get the hint. I think I was too nice, LOL!!! Gee...imagine that. There are more than one or two designers out there!
Gotta say....throwing out that whole "we are looking for one more GG" at such a convient time really makes me gag.

Oops..I am too slow to get my thoughts out, LOL! I am one of the paper scrappers. I have been lurking on the digi board the past few months but just to scared to post since I might say the wrong thing. Things were/are so darn confusing on what you could/couldn't do but yet you see it on the other boards! It was easier for me to just not post. But then to see all the lurkers come out here today...wow! I wasn't alone!
But being totally new to digi, I didn't feel I had any right to come out and call b*ulls**it on their rules. Does that make any sense?

Well I just don't like the attitude that you're worthy if you make it "big". When did that become the purpose of the digital board? It's that kind of attitude that makes people fearful of posting, asking questions, and GASP posting a layout that may not be considered a masterpiece.

ok well.. um.... I'm putting myself out on a limb here...
oh no! it's not what you think!
I am just clueless as to GG...
I understand it has something to do with 2peas
and the whole paper vs digi thing that has been
going on over there FOREVER....
is GG a poodle?

what they are doing is regrouping...the comment made about being discovered at 2p's...yes because they were the board where you wanted to hang out but as time progressed but the mb didn't and then they got overtly cautious with the threads, the environment became less of what we wanted....we have that now here and this will be the place to be discovered. I have absolute faith in that!
I will continue to purchase Rhonna's stuff cause I like it...
I will continue to post to the gallery cause everyone deserves to be recognized for their art...
I feel that this mb is the place I want to hang my layouts, hee hee!

I happen to really like the board over there. If they want to restrict ads, etc., then fine. What I can't figure out is why on earth they can't get the whole e-commerce thing right. Jeez - there are teenagers out there running successful online stores yet they can't even provide a logical and easy to navigate storefront. As for the stock issues - I still laugh when I see a banner saying... Pre-Order this or that... and then it STILL takes months for them fulfill orders. And DIGITAl has the same problem - what's with waiting 24 HOURS for delivery of DOWNLOADS??? Get with times, 2Peas!! LOL!
But the loyal-to-the-death Peas are just the saddest. Here are these Peas who post on the NSBR board that money is super tight this month, dh lost his job, etc., yet they continue fork over big bucks to 2Peas only to post how "disappointed" they are that this or that idea book was ordered MONTHS ago and still hasn't arrived. But of course those are the same gals who run hysterically to the defense of 2Peas when threads get controversial. A) Why don't these women expect more when they fork over their hard earned money to a store? To me it's plain ignorance; and B) Why can't 2Peas respect and value the loyalty of these people and stop making promises that they can't keep, continue to have customers waiting for months on end for items to be in stock, etc. It disgusts me really. I feel guilty "enjoying" the boards over there, but I've said many times on 2Peas that I would have been willing to spend lots of $$ on paper supplies if stuff was in stock. They really lost a good customer in me when I was a paper scrapper. And every 6 months or so 1Pea posts to acknowlege the problems and promises that they are going to be "bigger and better" - just give them time, yada yada yada. Since I joined in 2001 I've never seen any follow-through on these "updates".

OMG MIKI, I just came over here to post the same thing! Oh and "your participation on the board and your gallery" will be looked at....I've been on 2 Peas for YEARS, not that I'm that fab of a scrapper but PuhLEEZE, that is a threat--Play nice and you may get a chance at the brass ring" that is really turning to clay and they don't know what to do about it.
The Garden used to be a place to thrive and grow but these days it seems to be a graveyard, so very sad.

debbie - peas was in a bad financial mess i know at one point and vendors weren't being paid on time, etc...hence why things were out of stock, backordered, pre-order (to help them cover things). i believe this is why they sold to kaboose for one thing.

That's why things have been rolling into the store the past couple of weeks. They managed to pay all of the bills.

Holly - yes, I figured it was some such scenario. Having worked for a start-up magazine (in marketing), I totally understand the issues they must have been facing. I always thought that 2Peas bit off more than they could chew and sort of set themselves up for the unrest. Nothing personal to Kristina, but there were some customer relations mistakes made that might have spared them some of the complaining. What really gets me is that they kept making the same mistakes. Fine if they were behind on bills. Why, then would they continue to create hype around products with banners, sticky posts, and newsletters? "Goodness gracious - OMG - people are actually ORDERING this stuff??? Oy - what are we gonna do??" It all just reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day, when you keep running through the same event over and over again. Weird.
As for the TOU and promotions on the board - I think that this is inevitable for a product-driven hobby and efforts to suppress it - legal or not - will be met with disdain. That being the case, don't start a General Stamping board where shopping sources can't be discussed if your own storefront sells only a limited selection of stamping products in the first place. Same w/ digital. 2Peas made the same mistake there. Big hype and a huge crowd on the new digi board, same rules apply, yet 2Peas sells a limited selection of kits at relatively high price points. They get mad when we discuss vendors other than their own store, yet they themselves don't offer all that much. If you're gonna talk the talk...

Miki, that does make sense to me. And, welcome to the digi side. I hope you will post here and enjoy it!
YES! I plan on staying because this is EXACTLY what I was wanting in a digi community! And you have only been here for a few days! You gals are sooo darn supportive of each other, so generous in the work you do and I want to support it anyway I can!! Just this morning there has been threads here about someones first digi paper kit, blog freebies, support of sites, CT toots, the list goes on. THAT is what I want, need and expect from a community.
Sadly, that all goes on at 2peas on other boards except digi. That is what I just don't get!!! And no, I don't bye into the whole "we can't be everywhere". It is obvious that one of two things is happening there....either they choose to only monitor the digi board OR they have lots of little *police* running around on there pointing the monitor to digi board. So it is hard to not believe they haven't just added (and are looking for one more!) *police person* to add.
edited to add: Once the gallery is up here I fully plan on uploading all digi here!

Um... that's a complete slam, IMO. I happen to be a successful business woman, and a statement like that just sends me packing. Don't be condescending or patronizing! You'll certainly win no one's business that way.
