View Full Version : Pea1 and Dialogue

Pea1 reponded again to my thread. Here is what she had to say:
Tania,
I haven't seen any of those posts. my apologies.
I will see if I can find them now.
I explained that some Peas are upset at the inability to reply to her sticky at the top of the message board.
I said if she could post to the thread - and engage in dialogue, that would be ideal.

Hey Talia...
Looks like you can post your response there now.
I do wonder though why it took her so long to do this. Was it finally that another/this site was established for digi's to express themselves as they want that has her now standing up and taking notice?
I'm not being snarky or thumbing my nose at the whole scenario but she gave information to late for me to fully trust the digital mb there now. It had to come down to anger and strong words voiced over and over to get a response.

What a bunch of ish she is dishing out over there. Pretending that she doesn't know what questions she should answer or what the issues are. For crying out loud, I only started posting to the digital board about a week ago and I'M offended by the treatment. I can't imagine how the rest of you feel.

I am not sure exactly what I should be addressing in either of those threads.
I think I did cover things in my post at 2pm.
Can you please let me know if there is something specifically that I am not addressing?
I can not address things that happened over the weekend. I can not change the past.
I can tell you, as I did in my post, what would be tolerated going forward and what our plans are for the future.
Is there anything else I can do for you?
thank you.
Kristina
The two threads were the TOU Gallery post and the "Hey" post where the discrepancy between the GS and digi board was brought up NUMEROUS times along with the confusion regarding the gallery.
Seriously, there is "playing dumb" and me thinking "no wonder you were having so much trouble with the business".

Well Jen, THANK YOU for posting your questions to the thread there! I am actually *insert adjective* that Kristina is responding to the thread. Now let's see if she answers any of the questions.
Note that you, Jen Strange and I have posted questions directly to her.
Gals: Please post your concerns to the "Alert to Pea1" thread. For the moment, she is responding. If you have a concern - now is the time to voice it. She's *at* the computer.

everything is vague and pussy-footing around the topic. Her final comment to things seemed like she was doing us a favor allowing designer names. whatever. i've had the ick taste and am tasting yummy here.
TaniaJPS

Here is more from Pea1 for those of you following here:
I think a lot of us would like to know why threads just mentioning a designer's name were pulled on the digital board, while blatant TOU violations occurring on the GS board were allowed to stay.
[I mentioned in my post that the decision to allow the designer's name was a new change. anything that happened in regards to that in the past, is not something I can change.
I have also mentioned several times that we can't be all places at once and be monitoring the board all the time. we are reactionary. we are notified, we do what we can. I am certain that at one time or another each board has felt that it is the victim of unfair deletions. Until we have a full time moderator, we will not be able to moderator each board all the time and on occassion, one board or another may be the only one being moderated. Again, I apologize for the frustration involved with this. I hope it is something that can be rectified in a short amount of time.]
I think a lot of us would like to know why the GS board is allowed to continually break the TOU while the digital board is put under the microscope.
[see above]
Why were the deletion elves having such a lovely time over here on the digital board this weekend and not monitoring the GS board that had multiple abuse notifications turned in (the one with the blog directing people to another scrapping website that was having a sale)?
[see above]
Why are Michaels, Walmart, QVC, other internet stores, and other LSS's allowed to be mentioned on the GS board? Why are free font sites allowed to be mentioned, but digital freebies are not (Even pay font sites allowing freebies are mentioned on the GS board, not just the totally free sites)?
[again, see above. and now watch the gs board as it gets a much closer moderation as well.]
Will the GS board be policed in the future as strictly as the digital board has been? Will the two boards be treated equally - because it only took me about 2 days of even being on this board to see the difference in treatment.
[see my last comment]
I understand that this is a very thin line that we are treading on and I greatly respect you answering these questions
[yes. It is a very fine line we are treading upon. I changed my policy and am allowing the posting of the designer names, when before I didn't allow it. I am attempting to compromise with you. And I am asking for your respect, to the site, to my designers, and to me. I will allow and agree that often the names of the designers are the same as the sites, and I was aware of that as I made the decision to allow the posting of their names. I am attempting to come to the line with you and do what I can without crossing the line that I deem necessary. You are allowed to post the name of the designer. if that so mentioned designer is well known to be affiliated with a particular site, then it shouldn't be too difficult to be found if people go looking for it. and if you have mentioned this designers name without actually posting the link or the dotcom or whatever, I am okay with that. I have never been against the promotion of the designers in the community. You mistake me if that is your interpretation of me and the TOU. I am all for the growth and enrichment of the scrapbooking community as a whole. Obviously Two Peas is a testiment to that cause. I have spent 8 years growing and establishing Two Peas. The TOU are necessary. They may be frustrating at times, but they are necessary. ]
Thank you.
Kristina

And did anyone else notice that Rhonna is never on the digi board except for the following times:
-To post something about her newest items for sale (very few and far between)
-Post about a challenge that is up (again, very few and far between)
-Or my favorite...to stick up for the way the board is moderated and ran. That smiley face just drove me bonkers!!! Now it's not there anymore!
This drives me nuts. Same thing for all the other people who are posting about this over there. I couldn't even tell you who 90% of the people are!!! So sad...
Also, LOVE that she is trying to "compromise" here. Ugh...I agree with Holly...I have an icky taste in my mouth too. I've tried my best to stick it out, but this may be the straw that broke the camel's back. :( :? :x So many emotions....

Well, I'm sure not many of you knew who the heck I was before a few days ago, but I am an NSBR gal and we all know that we love a good debate.
I guess I picked a pretty strange week to start digital scrapping.

I have come and gone from 2Peas for years now. If it's not one thing - it's another that has pushed me away for a time. Then I come back and something else comes up.
I haven't said much about the way that the digi board has been treated but it sure has rankled.
Can I just say - thanks for a new place to hang out??

AMEN Holly. I will probably continue in the gallery, but I'm done on the board. After only 2 days of freedom here, I can't go back to the censorship, or the fawning over the Garden Girls.

Yep - I've BTDT also. The drama at 2 peas is nothing new and it seems to go in waves. I will still visit there because it is a good place to connect with people, especially those who are new to digiscrapping. But I won't be posting as often as I used to, that's for sure.
And all that drama is the main reason why I joined forces with Kathy Moore and Brenda Kempf to form DigiScrapDivas. We wanted an open community where people could talk about anything they wanted and have a good time. I don't think we have ever deleted a post (except for a nasty yucky spammer).

Man, I just need to walk away: A portion of Kristina's latest post:
I feel that I have treated you and all of your concerns today fairly and respectfully. I may not have always changed in the ways you have asked in the past and may not have always given the section the attention that it could stand to have. however, I do not believe that the following remarks on my site, or even in threads where I am respectfully conversing with some of you to be appropriate nor respectful:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tania, the problem is that we've now seen how nice it is to have it the way we'd like it to be. And while I appreciate that Kristina has "changed her policy," for me, its just not enough anymore. So I will utilize 2Peas for what I need it for, and go elsewhere for the things I can't get here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would ask that if you feel that way and wish to leave the site in such a manner that you do so without behaving in a disrespectful manner in a place in which I am operating in a respectful manner. I am attempting to be fair and conduct a conversation with some of you in order to make things go well in the future. Behavior such as that above does not do anything to further our faith in one another or to create an environment in which we can move forward productively.
That's MY post she quoted, and I truly don't understand what was so bad about what I said???

06-19-2006, 03:25 PM
Um you dared to disagree with her? I didn't think anything you said was disrespectful, just to the point and not all prettified. Although I have to say she must be feeling pretty picked on right about now lol so maybe she's reading into it?
I have to just quit going for awhile. I am trying to be respectful but man it's hard. And all the passive aggressive smilies all the while making jabs like "helping people without ulterior motives" etc.....designers get a bum rap if they try to help. Like we have to give up being a member of the community and have to give up being a scrapper because we also design. Don't get me started. Argh. I was a scrapper first and have always been a helper. Don't get me wrong, I know she wasn't calling me out but I guess it hit a sore spot lol. Treading lightly and I am off for the evening now. Get a dose of real life for awhile.

Yep - I took that a little hard too. I was a member of the 2 Peas community long before digital came along and it really set a bad taste in my mouth to be made to feel like I wasn't welcome anymore because I now have a business that competes with theirs.

I dont even know why she has bothered to even comment at all, at this point...
Are they even at all worried that everyone has seemed to abandoned ship? To me it seems like that was what they were hoping for...I dont know...her post doesnt seem to clarify anything for me...
BTW...her consession about allowing designer names makes me lol...I wanted to ask her, what about the actual designers who are "known" by their real name or even have their "real" name as their user ID...were they not going to be allowed to post there anymore?
well...I was thinking of deleting my gallery there...is everyone else keeping their LOs there?

After what she posted to me (or about me I guess I should say) I am really at a loss about my gallery. It is my most complete, and I love the comments you all have made. For now, it will stay, but I don't know if I will continue to add to it.

Dear Julie: I call that "grasping at straws". I don't think for a moment that you in any way meant to be belligerent. You were just calling it like you saw it. I respect that.

She needs to realize there are still a lot bigger issues than my post. Jen's super-comprehensive post, asking about blinkies and SO many other things that Kristina didn't address, hasn't been answered yet. Neither have any of the posts that were made after her "explanation." Does she think that once she's answered, its all over?
I realize there are other things to deal with, but if that many people were unhappy with my business and decisions, I can tell you I wouldn't sleep until everyone had been answered. Everyone.

I posted this & in the who's stickin' it out thread:
I'm staying, well sorta.
Peas know everything! When I need an opinion on shoes, household appliances or crockpot recipes I'll be sure to ask on the NSBR board.
When I want to know the latest on what's to be found at WalMart, Target, Michael's & HL, I can go to the gs board.
I have found a new place to be my digi home though.
Best of luck to 2Peas in all your changes yet to come.

It might be a little tacky, but the gs part is true.

I agree with you! I think a LOT of people are sitting on that thread. She unfairly singled you out, in my opinion. You are not the only one who gets the impression that "once she has answered, it's all over". I get that impression too.
Regardless, I will continue to ask the questions as long as she's sitting at the computer thinking about what to say next. I say now is the time to get it off your chest and kudos to you for saying what you did! She still has more questions to address.

Julie, DST is my new digital home for sure & this is my new base for all things digital. Once in awhile I get the urge to paper scrap & I can't resist their cool toys, lol!!! It's embarassing how many things I've bought over the past 2 years & haven't used, paperscrapwise.
Usually after I go to the GASC I get the urge to paper scrap & then it passes!! I paperscrapped for 7 years before going digital 3 years ago.

May I ask a question regarding this post by Rhonna:
yea, Chris!

you never know who's going through the gallery & watching you on the boards...

Now, please tell me... All the magazines that publish layouts...are they that close to Rhonna and her group and the 2p's admin that if you aren't a player for 2p's, you won't get recognized or published???
If we have made a comment that doesn't support the digi mb at 2p's have we theoreticaly "cooked our goose"?
Call me hypersensitive, but that sounded kind of threatening to me...am I reading it wrong?
Now I'm all riled up and want to start my own magazine so I can publish whomever I want!!! :?

I still paper scrap occasionally too. I just can't quite give it up. I *think* I can speak for everyone on this board that no one here expects anyone to completely abandon 2Peas. Some will, some won't, and its all good. One more reason I love it here over 2Peas. No one here is trying to change me, or shove any of their ideas down my throat. And we're all happy to converse about anything and everything! With everyone!

Nope, Marie, I took that post just like you did. And yeah, it got my panties all twisted again. First, that if you're not at 2Peas, you don't count, and second, that I have to be on my best behavior 'cause Big Brother is watching. Puh-leez.
