I am going to be purchasing a Nikon D200 and would like to know what lenses I should purchase with it...some info from me. I am looking at part time freelance photography work which would include mostly natural light photography, but I also would be doing studio work in the winter. Mostly portraits/senior shoots/maternity, etc.
Thanks in Advance,
Claudine

Is your freelance work going to be for portrait stuff or more retail/corporate stuff? I would say that would be important for you to consider as well as the space you will be using for your studio.

If you are doing retail/corporate I would invest in a lens that has a wide aperture as well as a wide angle. For portrait stuff you will also want that wide aperture for the natural light stuff. The 85mm is a really nice lens that alot of people have been using for portrait work, same with the 50mm 1.4 or 1.8.

Thanks Kristin for your response. My work is pretty much going to be portrait and not corporate/retail. I was leaning towards the 50mm 1.4 and an 84mm.
