Hi all--
About three weeks ago, somebody posted here about free Photoshop Classes from Creative Techs (www.creativetechs.com) that her husband took, and I signed on, even though I was skeptical, well, let me tell you they are wonderful!
It is not exactly too late to sign on, but they are doing color corrections the next two weeks, so if you don't know the basics, you may not be able to follow along.
In any case, they are starting something new tomorrow called Retouch Tuesdays where people sent them photos and they are going to fix them. I sent in 4 really awful photos and they picked one! It is a faded and darkened-with-aged photo of my grandfather as a child with his family from about 1890-1892. There are deep scratches on it, too.
Both the Photoshop class and the retouch Tuesdays are free. 100% free. The money comes in because they are taping them and the "reruns" will cost about $15.00 a class, but will be available any time one wants to watch them.
If you'd like to see how to get dust and scratches out of photos, or fix fading and discoloration, then toddle off to their website and register.

I can't find a link for Retouch Tuesdays, but here is the info:
Retouch Tuesdays
This Webinar is held every week on Tuesday, from:
Apr 21, 2009 to May 5, 2009 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDT --> US Pacific Time
Maybe you can email them or something.
Not affiliated, just passing on an opportunity for those who could make a Photoshop workshop during the workday, although 3:00 Pacific should be 6:00 Eastern time (and after the workday)
