I love DIP for its ease of use. Is there anything I can use tho that will give me more realistic shadows other than those in the program? Also anything I can do for those awful shadows behind people that the camera flash causes sometimes? TIA

Copy the item you want shadowed and fill with black. Then use blur to the level you'd like and adjust the transparency. A little extra work, but shadows are much more realistic! You can also hand-adjust the built in shadows and use a drop right - play with that too and see which effect you like best. HTH!

Thank you, I will try that. Any other suggestions. I've tried hand adjusting the built in shadows and sometimes it looks really good and other times not so great.

I also use the skewed down right shadow option customized. Adjusting the skew to whichever direction you wish light to be coming from. Shadow transparency and edge softness depending on how far the object should appear to be off the page. You are welcome to PM me if you would like more details. :)

Glad you were able to make use of them! Shadows are such a picky thing and everyone has their own preference with how they look. I forgot to add that you can also use the distort tool and warp the shadows to look the way you want - for example with butterflies flying off the page etc. :)

I use DIP too and wanted to add that after copy, fill with black, move behind, etc that I then use the Gaussian Blur. I've found it to do a better job than just using the Blur option.
