I would love to see the "Daddy and me" kits to include Mommy. Being a single Mom, kidlet and I do lots of stuff like Home Depot / Lowes kid construction days, The Race Car fixing things, fishing and fixing things around the house. Mommy and Me doesn't have to be pastels and flowers. I don't buy those but then getting these Daddy and me kits that would work for all the things we do as Mom and Son, I get frustrated and go into anger deleteing all the Daddy dad daddy files and lose half the kit.

Remember there are a lot of us that are single Moms and big hint we don't have to ask a hubby if we can spend money http://www.inspiration-lane.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

There are several kits I would have bought this month had there been a Mommy side version of all the Daddy word art and some of the elements. And during Mothers day kits saw very few that were more than flowers and pastels. Please designers remember we are not all stay at home 50's steriotypical mothers.

I'm just frusted by this since sick and headach and was hoping someone would have thought to make the kits useable for us Mom's that are "tomboys" and MomAndDad.

What kind of things WOULD you use in the kit? I am asking because I have a dear friend who is also single mom to a son and I would be happy to make a kit if I had some ideas and suggestions. And colors...what kinds would appeal to you?

The tools and "Fix-it" kits are cool because we do the Home Depot and Lowes Kid's Class thing where the kids make projects. We go fishing often, Do arts and crafts things like Plaster Blasters, video games...
Colors I like grungy dark colors with some Popping hues to use for the "bam" areas. Blues, Maroons, Greens, Browns, Earthy versions of purples/violets/plums, oranges/mangos.

Thanks for the reply! Not being in the DST "clique" seems to lead to never getting feedback so appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I have a kit that was a freebie with tools. It is called Daddy's Little Helper but has no "dad" specific anything. It even has a touch of magenta. It is not currently up in my store but will be whenever we do dollar days. PM me if you are interested.

These are sweet but the "daddy kits" get more fun quotes/ word art Mom's always seem to only get the Halmark fluffy quotes. How bout a "Mom ate a bug!" (hey it was at Disney's Animal Kingdom so it was a clean bug) word art ya know
"Fishing Mom and Me", "Mom's are there to put the worm on the hook"
"My Mom kills her own bugs", "Mom's got a Hammer", "Mom's Handy Helper", a fun grungy "Like Mother Like Son" even ;)

Don't know if this will help or not...but I have some mother word art in my store- I know the hearts are pink...but the rest isn't :)

Bethany from ScrapOrchard not only sells her wonderful wordart- but has a ton of freebies- maybe she has something that would work for you? I agree though- most of the "mom" wordart is definitely "girly".

I have a couple of fix-it kits you could use. And they're on sale 50% off right now too! Not sure how young your son is, but these work for pretty much all ages.

I just released this kit. Yes it has flowers but I also added stars, splats and flourishes and enough other stuff to work for boys. I like to make my kits works for both sexes! If you purchase it I will create two word or phrases & a star border (to replace the flower border) for you at no additional cost. :) Just pm me here to let me know you got the kit and I will create them for you. Oh yeah, I have a 40% off coupon out this month, code: DSTjune_71
