We are buying our daughters a digital cameras for Christmas. I'm just overwhelmed with all the different ones out there. I need one for some one new to digital cameras. I was thinking 5 to 6 mega pixels with a some type of a zoom.

I was hoping to keep the price range under 200.00. Since I might pick up one for myself. I still use my faithful old fashion 35mm Cannon and have no clue about what I should get.

We have a small Sony cyber-shot. It takes good pics, and isn't so lightweight that it seems flimsy (like some of the other ones.... I really like the little bit of weight to this one, not heavy, but "there" if you know what I mean). I don't remember all the details off the top of my head 'cause we got a Canon digi Rebel Xti about 2 weeks after the Sony, so I haven't used it in a while.... But I do like it....

I too have a Sony Cybershot- 6 mp which is pleny big, holds lots of photos on a card and I am very impressed with the battery time.. It was about 230 a few months ago I am sure you can find for less now... fits in hubbys pocket or we got a cute little 10.00 belt strap holder for it. This is the one we take when out walking/sightseeing etc. I also had got a Sony A-100 for my other stuff and I love it too.

I have a Canon Powershot A620 and LOVE it. Very user friendly...takes great pics and has high reviews from Consumer Reports, also. You can also take video clips. Good luck making a decision....there are sooo many out there!
