I've got the margarita pitcher already! :lol
As much as I love having family time, I am SO not looking forward to tomorrow. I'd much rather send DH off and stay home and enjoy the quiet lol.
My IL's do Thanksgiving outdoors at a local state park.. and by the looks of the weather today.. it's gunna be cloudy and cold and my MIL will be there at like 6 am to start BBQ'ing this 29 (!!) lb turkey she's got.
Today was kinda crazy here in my house.. we are in a Year Round School district and yesterday was track off day for my 10 and 5 yr olds. My 12 yr old is off track in Nov so he goes back to school after this holiday for about 3 wks when they have a Christmas Break. But b/c my 10 and 5 yr olds have the month of December off, they will be off for a total of 43 days, starting from today until Jan 3rd when they go back to school. So I have all 5 of my boys home today with me... they are 12, 10.5, 5, almost 4, and 2.5 yrs old.
So yeah it's loud and I have a headache lol. I also had a couple of scrap for hire jobs today and DH is going to be home soon so I had to get up and clean real quick so it doesn't look like I sat on the computer all day LOL! Good thing he doesn't know everywhere I post or I might be in trouble!
Anyway, I'll be in my corner if anyone would care to hide with me!!

LOL! I don't have the magarita mixings, but I totally identify with you! My mom really struggles with the IL's (my grandparents) traditions and get-togethers. It's gotten a lot "worse" in the past few years since we've only ever celebrated with them and my dad died when I was young...so....she's starting to mix things up this year. ;) I hope everything works out okay for you!

I totally LOVE my IL's (I was blessed with awesome IL's!) and I usually love going.. I'm just worn out and I need a break.. especially since my DH *gets* to go work a race this weekend and I have to stay home :( I would totally love to go.. even though I'd just be sitting in a trailer for 12 hrs on a computer, it is VERY relaxing AND it's out of town.
Never thought I'd hear myself say I wanted to go to work LOL! But I have SO much fun talking to the drivers when they come in to view their pics.

I'll have a margarita, even though I get a break this year. wouldn't want you to drink alone. :) It's usually very hectic & crowded for us, vistiing with my parents & my brother's family & assorted family friends in Florida, but this year we are visiting for Christmas. So DH & the boys and I have reservations for Thanksgiving dinner at a nice local restaurant. we always end up taking home half our dinners there because the portions are so big, so we'll have a nice dinner, leftovers and no dishes! I am so excited to have NO DISHES!

I hear you Blythe! Yesterday, I was one of the supervisors on my DD's school exercusion to the Planetarium and ScienceWorks museum - being in the comany of a bunch of 23 5 to 6 years old was noisy and tiring! I really didn't want to go to work today - I'm used to my one day off by myself (which I gave up yesterday - LOL)
Hugs and hand over the pitcher :lol

Ype, that's what I love about Christmas in Australia - generally a BBQ, no dishes to be done!!!

It wasn't too bad - I only had four in my group - one who is an angel (not mine! LOL), one who wants to see everthing now! (mine), one how is a total smarty pants and the other one who was being quiet for a change.
Australia is in a sad place right now with the lack of water - we all love our sunburnt country, but it's just a little too sunburnt right now :(

Hee hee! That's good that they were good for ya. We took our kids out for dinner the other night, they are SO well behaved in public I swear they have multiple personalities. But it's nice that we can go out in public with thema nd not worry about them acting like heathens lol.
Also, I have a veru good friend who lives in Western Australia. She was just here in the states on a tour and spent 4 days here with us when it was over. We enjoyed having her.. and now it's my turn LOL!

Mine can either be a total PITA when we are out (goodness why as we have taken her out since she was a baby), or a complete sweetheart.
That visit sounds like fun and I'm sure you will like yours too. We want to go to WA to visit the Margaret River region, which is wine and food country.

You know there were times I so wanted to have a quiet Thanksgiving at home rather then spending it with in-laws but now that the in-laws are gone and the sibs don't get together at all nor any of the other family I look back and think I do wish we still were having family get togethers. So go enjoy because you'll be able to have many quiet Thanksgivings in years to come!!

I am totally dreading tomorrow, my SIL and BIL are coming back and SIL is a complete .... well shouldn't say it here. Anyway, they were back last year and she made everything completely miserable. So I guess I should bring something to drink as well. I heard they came out with mint Baileys. YUUUUUUMMMM.
