I actually made these LAST Christmas. Made 3 of them for gifts and was very happy with the way they turned out. This year, 2 of the recipients asked for refills on their Christmas 'wish lists', so I think I must have been onto something!

I bought these clear lucite flip photo frames/albums at Ikea. They are a lucite (almost a triangle shape) with metal rings across the top. The photo 'holders' flip around the rings to the back of the frame. I guess it's actually a desk calendar.

Anyhow, I bought Valerie Lemons Calendar template (at Scrapbook Bytes) and added a calendar to 12 special scenic photos.

I will attach 2 of the pages I did for this year for the refills. I did them as 4x6, and actually took them to a quality photo developer for printing. That way, if they frames are sitting on a desk in the sun ... the photos wouldn't fade as quickly as they would from my ink-jet printer. As soon as I saw the designer had her vertical calendar templates out this year, I bought them! Sorry I don't have a link for you, but it's Valerie Lemons @ SBB.

I am making safety pin beaded trees. The pictures don't do them justice, they are gorgeous with the light shining through the beads. They take 100 #2 safety pins, assorted acrylic beads, a white string of 35 Christmas lights, 20 guage wire, and plastic canvas to seal the bottom up. The instructions were posted at two peas NSBR - ack don't know how to do a link -

Wow that christmas tree looks fun and pretty!

I just made a collapsible desk calendar for my husband! He travels a lot and he loved to bring the one (http://ztampf.com/ztampfest/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=417) I made him last year (for this year) so I made him another one for next year. Here's a pic, there are more here (http://ztampf.com/ztampfest/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=345).

I made one for my parents last year too - since all their children are living abroad now, it's a really great idea. I had some childhood pictures of us etc. And they just LOVED it!

I printed them all at home and had them bound at my local copy shop. Oh and I'm using my own Ztampf! CraftyCalendar Kit (http://ztampf.com/ZtampfShop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=472) to make them :).

thanks

They are made using glass slides and ready made frames. I tried the soldering thing but, well, let's just say that they will be getting pendants made with readymade frames. I bought the supplies from my LSS but they ran out so I have ordered more from Sugar-N-Spice - it is an ebay store and when you buy multiple things the shipping charges are reduced

she has the slides AND the frames in multiple sizes

if you buy from her could you please tell her that tlc recommended the site to you? (in the comments area of your paypal payment) no special benefits but would love for her to see that digiscrappers are good customers

hehehe, now I hope my order arrives cause I am referring people and don't want anyone disappointed. I just ordered before the holiday and it does state that she works fulltime and only ships on Saturdays so I probably have to wait a bit yet.

Wow, all of you are so creative.

I usually try to do a bunch of handmade gifts every year. Since my DS was a baby (10 years ago, my goodness.... ) I have made handmade ornaments or decorations with the kids. Handprints have always been a big hit. I have made hand/foot print angels, hand print Xmas trees, paper weights, wreaths etc. I thought of a cute idea the other day- to trace a handprint on felt, then scent it with essential oil or fragrance oil and use that as a car air freshener.

Ornaments- glass ornies with paint swirls inside, pics of the kids decoupaged on them, salt clay ornies, plaster ornie frames painted by the kids. You name it we have probably done it. LOL

Other gifts that I make
I am an aromatherapist and I make up gift baskets for the holidays. Baths salts, massage oils, scented soaps are really easy to make.

I have crocheted scarves, made scented pillows, baked cookies and candies etc.

This year, I am also putting together a digital scrap album for my father. We had a family reunion last month and I have some great shots of the family. I am going to add in some pics of heritage family, family recipes etc.

For my father in law, I am making a movie. DH found some demo of a movie maker. You select photos or movie clips off you computer, then add music files for a soundtrack and it puts it together like a movie. So I'll burn that to dvd for him, the man who has everything. heheh.

Anyway, that is some of what I have done. I was a PreK teacher for a long time so I usually have some cute kids crafts up my sleeve. If there is anything in this thread that you want better instructions for, feel free to pm me.
