I found this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007E7JU/002-5943781-1344801
Would you trust buying a lens from them???
I found it at B&H for 74.95 plus shipping...so it's more there, but I'm concerned about getting a lens from amazon...would you?
ETA that I bit the bullet and bought it at Amazon!! It comes in 3-5 business days!!

I've never ordered a lens through them, but with books I've never been dissapointed.

Hey, I have that same one on my wish list!
I've never ordered a lens from Amazon, but I probably would because I've never had any problems ordering from them before.

We ordered our coffee maker from Amazon (among other things like books, cds, toys, etc.) and haven't had any problems. I think probably the only thing I wouldn't be able to bring myself to buy from Amazon would be a diamond. Well, maybe. If the deal were exceptional, it provided the specs and included proper certification. :lol See....I can be talked into anything.

I ordered that same lens from them and it arrived yesterday. (It took about a week to get here.) I haven't gotten to check out the lens since it's a Christmas present from my dh to me. :)

I bought my XT on Amazon. The only thing I'd be wary of is some of the marketplace sellers, but Amazon itself should be absolutely fine.

I'd probably buy nearly anything from amazon, and I would certainly not hesitate to buy a lens from them, too. In fact, I'll just ditto Shannon, except that I didn't buy a coffee maker from them, though I did just buy dd's Sony camera (for a Christmas gift) from them. I'll add that, like Lauren, this confidence doesn't necessarily extend to their marketplace sellers; I'd probably wait until I could get it from amazon directly.

I've bought all but one of my lenses there! I'm an Amazon Prime member so you can't beat free 2 day shipping on a $1200 lens (the most expensive one I've bought there).
I have never been dissappointed by amazon. One time I got a cd that was cracked when I opened it... there was a new one in my mailbox two days later, before I even sent the bad one back!

I bought that exact lens on there plus another one that was close to 1000. Plus many many other assorted goodies! I have never had a problem! I need to renew my amazon prime I got so used to that second day air.

You get Free second day air and overnight shipping is 3.99 on all amazon products. It doesn't count for other stores sellthing through amazon but I found it to be well worth it! It is 79 dollars for a year :)

and I think you can get it for three months for free... after 3 months of ordering stuff and getting it shipped to you for free you get really used to it.. I used to not order just a single cd because I didn't want to pay shipping, now I place like 5 orders a day... LOL

I know I got too used to it! Most stuff comes out of Nevada and that is like 2 hours away from me so even 2nd day would come over night. I just loved that. I am going to renew after Christmas!

Wow - I can't believe all of you that have purchased so much from Amazon! I am still an internet purchaser newbie and I really only saw amazon as books and CD's - LOL!!!
