Black and White Elements

I am sure this is an easy question, but how do you go about changing the color of BLACK and/or WHITE elements? I get that on regular colored stuff you use the adjust hue/saturation... have done it many times, but I just can't for the life of me figure out those two colors! Thanks for helping :P

I have just recently figured out how to use the replace color tool, so that's how I would do it. I had to read in the adobe help how to do it so I wouldn't be much help at explaining it though!! Sorry. :oops:

In Hue/Saturation:
You click the colorize box, but you have to move the lightness slider also to have the color show. (Since black is all the way dark and white is all the way light, until the lightness is changed -- they still look colorless.)
