I'm trying to scrap some pages from a girlfriends 40th Bday. She had a retro 80's themed party that karaoke was the central theme. And karaoke type kits, or even 80's kits (thing neon colors, rubix cubes etc)

this is her cake....which I made BTW, it was the 4th cake I have ever made. Never taken a class either.

Wow! That cake is amazing! I can't believe you've never taken a class. :eek I bet she loved it. How did you do the piano keys?

As far as a kit, have you seen the newest collab at Shabby Pickle?

OMG (jumping up and down in seat) those kits are both so perfect lol! I knew I'd find the answer here.

Janet everything on the cake is edible. The piano keys as well as everything else is all fondant and sugarpaste. The piano, I just covered the entire cake board with a sheet of white fondant and trimed it. Then took a pizza cutter and lightly made lots of cuts about an inch apart, like cutting a pizza. Than I rolled out black fondant and just cut strips and placed them around the middle skipping "keys" here and there like on a real piano.
