That work good as backgrounds in block templates. Sort of like the old calicos.

I think Zoe Pearn (http://sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=25&sort=&sort_direction=&show=all) over at Sweet Shoppe does small patterns really well!

I prefer a smaller pattern too. Sometimes what I do, is ctrl/cmd (on a mac)+t, and drag it in from the corner. Then use it as a smaller pattern.

I do this sometimes too, but some patterns still don't look quite right. Thanks though. I always like hearing new tips.

Yes I was going to suggest that you can just shrink down a larger paper until it appears to be a small pattern. You'll have more options this way!

This paper set has several smaller patterns that you can make as small as you'd like! It would look great ;)

Sabrina's Creations (http://digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=38)has a lot of small print papers in her kits that's so nice with blocky layouts. I've made one recently too.

Sabrina also works with Designs by Anita (http://digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=26)and Scooty's Designs (http://digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=39)under the name of SASDesignz (http://digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=64).
Between the 3 of them, there are a lot of your kind of papers in their kits. Like this one (which also has stunning elements (http://digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe/product.php?productid=17681&cat=0&page=1)!!):
