Sorry for another post about problems with actions ...

I just got PSE4 yesterday and wanted to load some of the free actions that Atomic Cupcake had. At first I couldn't get them to load because I wasn't following the directions. But, once I started actually reading, I got the foam text to load and it works just fine. Now, I CANNOT get the other ones (gel and chipboard) in there. When I try to copy the files and empty the cache and then go into Photoshop (yes, it was closed while I copied the files), and look in Styles & Effects if I click on the drop down menu (where it says "all"), I can SEE the titles of the actions, but there is no icon for them and I can't click on them to run the action.

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks!

Are you placing the whole atomic cupcake folder (the unzipped one) in the Presets>Styles Folder? Because if you are just placing the effect in there, then you are without a thumbnail image to work with. Does that make sense?

I got it figured out! Phew!

Sometimes I just really need to step away from the computer!

Thanks for your advice!

Nina : I have the french ps, so I thought it wouldn't work, but I made it work. The problem comes from the names the french (or german) ps gaves to the layers. When ps say that "the layer "Layer 1" is not available" select "stop" and rename the layer giving it the english name. It can be tricky because sometimes you have to think which layer is what (and sometimes it's not obvious). But now it works for me.

That's good to know. I will specifically name all layers from now on and get around to updating the others if I can. (It's kind of hard to work through them backwards.)
