Scanner help...computer expert!

I upgraded my computer last year and have yet to get my scanner set up. I think I need to update my driver or something. I have Windows XP, but my scanner is and Acer ScanPrisa 640p and is supported up to Windows 98. I've gone to acer and other sites, but get lost once I get there. Does anyone have advise? Should I call Dell?

Need to get it hooked up, cuz I'll need to start scanning in older photos at some point.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try doing a search (Google, etc.) for Acer Scanprisa 640p. I found several that way. Just try to pick a reputable site to download it from. I couldn't find it on the Acer site either. They may not have an updated driver for that model posted, depending on the age of your scanner.

I have no answers - but I feel you pain. LOL

We had a nice scanner that we got working when we upgraded our Win98 machines to XP. However, we then upgraded our machines so they were fresh installs of WinXP, and then we couldn't get the scanner to work any more. at all. zippo. nada. *sad face)

So we ended up buying a new scanner. Actually an all-in-one, which was okay because we needed another printer also. I really love how it scans and is much faster than the old one.

And my daughter was in need of scanner, so she inherited the old one which had always worked on the PC she also inherited. LOL
