plz help w/ templates - pse 4.0

okay, banging my head here.

i'm trying to use a template.

I'll tell you what I am doing.

open template - all the layers are showing

open papers and photos

click/select paper or photo
copy

click on layer in template i want to use

copy

ctrl alt g gives me nothing. the two layers do not merge. actually, it just looks like i'm adding another layer. i can move that layer around but it won't let me make it into the shape of the template.

argh!!!!

any suggestions?

(You meant paste for the second to last step, right?)

It will add another layer. Make sure the paper is directly above the template in the layer list. Click on the PAPER's layer, then press ctrl-alt-g. If it doesn't work, try ALT clicking BETWEEN the layers in the list.

I wrote you back, i hope this helps, in PSE you have to do CTRL-G (no alt - actually you only need the alt in CS2). Otherwise try Layer->Group with Previous (in PSE)
