Grrrr - have no idea why this isn't working. I'm working in PSCS2.

I have 2 sheets of paper open; one is a floral print, the other is a monochromatic paper with a bit of texture on it.

I want the monochromatic paper to be the same shade as the floral. So, using my color picker, I have my foreground color set to the shade of yellow I picked from the floral paper. With my mono paper active, I go under Image>Adjustments>Hue&Saturation and click the "colorize" option.

Instead of the yellow, the mono paper is turning a kind of tannish/grayish color. I've confirmed that I'm in RGB mode 'cuz I thought I was in grayscale for a minute.

Then I tried putting a color overlay on the paper (in my layer styles in my layers palette) but it hides the texture on the mono paper and if I decrease the opacity, it's not the right color. None of the blend modes look right either, so I gave up on this option.

The "match color" option under Adjustments doesn't give me a good result either.

I really want to use that colorize option, but I can't figure out why it's not working. Or, it is really working and this is the best result I can get? Isn't it supposed to recolor to the foreground color?

I use PSE3, so I don't know if this will be much help for you, but when I click "colorize" I sometimes have to mess around with the hue, saturation and lightness sliders. I just try to match it to the color in my foreground color box.

ditto... sometimes things won't colourize perfectly based on what colour was there originally. If you mess with the levels, saturation & brightness/contrast you should be able to get it where you need it :)

Yep - that was it.

Apparently the Hue was fine - I had to adjust the saturation all the way over to the right. Which is weird because I don't ever recall having to do that before. Maybe I messed up a setting somewhere?

Thank you!
