before I can do what I could do easily without the layers in a Microsoft program like picture it or publisher (without crying).
I am using tutorials and got past my first sticking point yesterday after a long frustrating time, but still have nothing that looks like a page and have a list of problems to fix. I can't face it right now.
Seriously I just wondered how long in actually hours of concentration would you guess, if I am fairly digitally-literate and follow the book, help guide and try to get the omitted info from others.

I can't wait to hear the answer to this one. I'm a DIP girl, and fairly digi/computer literate, and my PS sessions usually consist of me staring at the screen for about 15 minutes and then closing it out of frustration.

Hang in there! I was a long-time PSP (Paint Shop Pro) gal when I picked up a copy of PSE4. I started in April (I think) and stuck with the tutorials (mostly nights and weekends because I was still teaching) and now it's June and I'm feeling much more confident. It just takes practice. :)

One day it will just "click" - when you least expect it. Like an Oprah "lightbulb moment"!! LOL! Be patient and keep playing with the program.

Go to your library and get one of Scott Kelby's books. VERY good step by step instructins. Not necessiarily scrap booking focused, but it sure helped me learn some cool tricks and learn short cuts.

I'm a big fan of Linda Sattgast's tutorials on CD. There's nothing like seeing someone actually do it. I've worked in design for years (and even in Photoshop when it first came out), but the PSE layering system was getting me down. With Linda's CD, I was designing my own papers within a week.

When I decided to switch from DIP to PSE4, I spent about 20 minutes per day just playing in PSE4...not trying to actually scrap a page. After a few weeks, I was doing some basic scrapping. After a couple of months, I was in love with PSE4!!!!!
