Can any idiot (aka me) create a blog? I opened a blogger account, but haven't done anything with it.

I started with blogger, but I just hated it. For me (totally not a web-savvy girl) it was so hard to maintain. I now use typepad and I love love love it!

Julie...
I use blogger and can help you with it. My base template on my blog is minima ( I think that's what it was called!) I'd be happy to help you out. Setting things up can be a little tricky, but once it's done it's easier to add/change. Have you set up any links yet? You have my email... right? Let me know and I'll help you out! :)

I'm going to be following this one. I'm thinking about blogging just not sure I'd have enough to say. LOL I think it would be good for the family though.

You'll find that once you start your blog, you'll always be thinking "Oh, I should blog about that." Doing the dishes, running errands, doesn't matter. Suddenly the most mundane things seem blog worthy.

Actually Ange, you're the whole reason I set up the blogger account, so I could comment on yours! I'll play a bit today and see what I can and can't do. Thanks!

Alrighty Marci, wish granted. Hopefully this helps you.

-Log in to TypePad and click on your blog.
-You should see four tabs (Manage, Post, Design, Configure)
-Click on Design>Change Theme
-This pops up your design window. The second option from the top is Page Banner with a button that says "Edit this Element." Click there.
-A pop up window will come up with color selection options and below that you will see a check box that says "Use this banner image instead of text title." Make sure that is checked or your banner will not display
-Select the banner file from your computer.
-Save changes

Let me know if you have any problems with this. Have fun! Changing banners can be addictive. :)

Blogging so rocks my face off.

What Shannon says is SO true. You will be going through your day and something weird/funny/horrible will happen... and the first thing you think is, 'Oh, I SO have to blog abt this!'

It's also a great way to get to know fellow scrappers and a way to show off your latest layouts so they don't get 'lost' in a big gallery on another site.

Just do it! :)

Please Help! I agreed to make a banner for my friend's blog hosted at Blogger not realizing that she had no idea how to insert it. She gave me her log in so that I could hop in and upload it myself and it is SO not like TypePad. There is crazy css and html code. How the heck to I upload a banner?

You can only use custom banners in typepad with one of the premium accounts.. i just have the lowest price one and I can't do a banner so that might be your issue marci.

Jen, thank you. I was starting to think I was REALLY lame. I followed the instructions above, but didn't have the prompts that were supposed to be there. Marci

i just started on blogger and have found that the best way to get it to look the way i want it (using their easy templates of course!) is to actually DARE to go and play around with the html code!

hehehehe. believe me....scary at first, but with trial and error, i'm getting there oh so slowly! :)

I used blogger for a while, but got so frustrated with it. I use Wordpress now, and I love it!

I just created a new one on blogger. I was confused at first, but I got the hang of it now. Somebody here yesterday gave me this info:

http://www.rakscraps.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7757

on how to customize your blogger template and it helped wonders. I used the white minima template and played around until I got it to work.

Except I haven't been able to figure out how to add blinkies yet....Anybody know how to do that???
