Printing Help

First of all, thanks so much to Amy Teets for showing me over here to ask this question. Secondly, I'd appreciate any help with this problem. Thanks!

My sixth, or is it seventh, attempt at printing my LO at Costco and I think I may have some insight. I'm just not sure what to do with it.

The woman told me my LO was measuring 3840 by 2560, according to their equipment. When I create the image for printing, it's 3600 by 2400 at 300dpi. So, the difference is 20dpi per inch. My pages were getting cropped about that much.

Do I solve the problem by making my LOs 320dpi or do I need to decrease them to 280dpi? Does their equipment want my image to be a certain dpi and compensates for the difference by cropping?

help. please.

What size enlargement are you printing would be my first question.

When I use Costco I normally print 2 8x8s and several smaller pixs on a 18x12 canvas at 300 pixels/inch. so that equates to 5400pixels wide by 3600 pixels high.

3600 by 2400 at 300 dpi is 8x12, isn't it? Either way, I've tried it at 8x12 and at 3600 by 2400 at 300 dpi. :?

I'd love some thoughts on why they are coming back blown up and cropped, but I think I'm going to have to settle for 7.5x7.5 in order to get the entire LO on one 8x12.
