Some questions before I start saving up to buy a new one.
1 - what camera did you use before?
2 - if you had another GOOD camera before, like the rebel, etc...why did you upgrade?
3 - do rebel lenses fit the 20D?
4 - if you just got a body, which lens did you choose to go with it?
5 - anything i should know about this awesome camera?

Some questions before I start saving up to buy a new one.
1 - what camera did you use before?
the original digi rebel
2 - if you had another GOOD camera before, like the rebel, etc...why did you upgrade?
honestly? at the time i wanted a back-up camera so instead of a second drebel, i upgraded to the 20D and made the drebel my back-up (although it hasn't seen daylight in over a year... yikes) I do love that there's less noise at the higher ISO's though. Oh... I also love how the creative controls are layed out v. the drebel. gosh... I know there are more reasons but I haven't picked up my drebel is so long, I've forgotten them.
3 - do rebel lenses fit the 20D?
yes
4 - if you just got a body, which lens did you choose to go with it?
I have the following lenses:
50mm 1.8 (but I think its dying... will replace with either the 50mm 1.4 or the 85mm 1.8 )
28-135 IS (my all purpose lens)
Sigma 70-300 APO
70-200 2.8 L - love., love, love this lens but i has taken me over a year to get to that point
5 - anything i should know about this awesome camera?
nothing I can think of right now... but let me know if you have any other questions!
Okay... apparently I don't know how to use the quote feature properly... but you can see my responses in there

Hi Holly,
1 - what camera did you use before?
I actually went from a regular Canon Elan 7 and a baby Nkon Coolpix 4300 (pocket digi camera for hikes) to my 20D. I checked out the Rebel before buying my 20D but it fit too close to my face and simply didn't feel right to me after using the Elan for several years.
2 - if you had another GOOD camera before, like the rebel, etc...why did you upgrade?
I upgraded to 20D for a first-time digital SLR.
3 - do rebel lenses fit the 20D?
Yes.
4 - if you just got a body, which lens did you choose to go with it?
I bought the body and EFS 17-85mm with Macro and Image Stabilizer. I find that I use two lenses most of the time. My old Canon 75-300mm with stabilizer (which I will probably replace at some point soon) and the new lens I bought with the 20D. These two cover a range from 17-300mm and seem to meet my needs well. I've sold, or given away, most all others I owned.
5 - anything i should know about this awesome camera?
Actually I'm saving now for the 30D. You might want to go straight to that one and bypass the 20D. The 30D has spot metering.
Hope this helped a little! :0)

Can I jump in here even though I don't own a 20d?
I just upgraded from the digital rebel to a 30d and just want to throw that option out there if you are researching cameras. For just a bit more money, you gain many impressive features if you choose the 30d. Top things that come to my mind are spot metering, larger display, and the simple fact it is the newest camera release and will probably fully replace the 20d.
Good luck in your research and have fun :)

I did hear they are retiring the 20d since they brought out the 30d. Not sure on the lenses. The canon site might have those answers if you haven't already checked.

1 - what camera did you use before? Point And Shoot Sony DC960
2 - if you had another GOOD camera before, like the rebel, etc...why did you upgrade?
3 - do rebel lenses fit the 20D? As long as their EOS lenses, they'll work
4 - if you just got a body, which lens did you choose to go with it? Got the kit lens with it.
5 - anything i should know about this awesome camera? It freaking ROCKS.
