One of my kids dropped a toy on my laptop and the F1 key popped off and the little bracket that holds it on is broken. Does anyone know if you can replace one key? It's a Dell Inspiron 6000.

my dd picked almost every key off of my brand new laptop the night after i got it :shock:

i called dell and they sent me a new keyboard for 12.00. not sure if they'll just do one key or not...

OMG I hope my DD doesnt do this tonight! I can just imagine buttons all over the place LOL oh boy! I hope you get your button issue solved Shelly :)

i was seriously in tears when i realized what all these little black things on the floor were. ugh.

luckily it was VERY easy to put in the new keyboard.

I am gonna call Dell and see how much they are. Do you know if that was a standard price or not? They are higher on all the places I have found them.

Just a possible carry over fix- but could you superglue the key back on??
May be silly idea but you never know. (only try if you would not get glue inside your laptop.

My daughter did the same thing & I was able to find just the single key I needed on eBay.

There was no way I could afford to replace the whole keyboard, but one key worked!!
