Okay--don't laugh. I may be overlooking something very obvious...
How do you look through your overlays, etc. in PSE? I have things tagged by type, and when I pull up the overlay tag, there are just a bunch of white rectangles. Other than opening up each one in the editor, how on earth can I see what's in there? Do you paste them onto a colored background so they'll show up?
Thanks!

How I would do it depends on if you know how to put a colored overlay on a layer.....I don't have PSE, I have PS7 so I'm not sure it would be the same steps, but here is what I do....
*right click on the layer in your layers palette box.
*choose: blending options
*choose: color overlay. change the color box from bright red to black
If you save it this way you can change it back to white by unchecking the color overlay option next time you open it.
**BTW: this is a great way to change the color of overlays too - they don't have to stay the color you bought them! :D To make them usable in a different color: when you do your color overlay - there is a drop down list that says "normal" change it to "color" - that will colorize it perfectly!
Make sense?

julie, because of the inherent transparency of overlays, they can be hard to grab -- do this instead -- use Layer->Duplicate Layer and then select the destination from the drop down menu and a copy of it will pop over to the file you want it in. I have more tips on overlays on my site here (http://www.christinesmith.net/tutorials/overlays.html)
