what catagories are you creating in organizer?

I have designer names
colors
and theme like 4th of july, christmas, etc.
Someone suggested that I do alphas by letter which is pita but great for those ransom looking titles or monograms.

anything else?

I also have categories in:

- Kit Previews - this works really well for me to be able to get a 'quick' look at all the beautiful kits I have!!
- Mini Albums
- Designers
- Seasons
- Holidays
- Colors
- Elements - broken down like LauraBelle suggested: brads/metals, photo tabs/anchors/etc., rick-rack, ribbbon, tags, frames, etc.
- Accents - stickers, etc.
- Overlays
- WordArt
- Stitches
- Brushes/Stamps - I keep them in this category until I make a .png into an .abr

I think I have a few more, I just can't remember right now!! LOL

Is there a PS CS2 version of PSE Organizer or maybe another program I can purchase that will work inside CS2? Like you, I've been able to manage it until recently, but it's starting to get out of control...and I need to rope it back in the RIGHT way now :)

Thank you!

I have pscs and finally bought Thumbsplus. I got so frustrated in Jasc (now corel) PhotoAlbum and then PCE4 Organizer (I bought PCE strictly for the organizer). They were soooo slow and almost impossible to move entire folders around. Thumbsplus is easy to use to move folders around (I download to "elements to be filed" and then when they are catalogued I move the kits to my "elements" folder tree.) And it works very nicely.

It has meant that I have to redo, again, all my keyword/tags ! Which is really tough because I buy/download much faster than I catalogue.

I also agree with the earlier posting about having a keyword "Preview" it is great to see my kits that way.

I started tagging all eyelets, brads, buttons, staples, etc but it got to be toooooo much. Now I just tag the special ones.

I also started assigning a number rating to a kit: 1-5. It is hard to see the quality of a kit from a thumbnail but if it has a rating of a 5 I know it is a great one. Though to be honest, kits that might get a low rating of a 1 or 2 I have been deleting - it was hard to do at first but there is no way that I could ever use all the kits I have so why hold onto the ones that I am no longer interested in? As my collection grows I have become more thoughtful before hitting the download button.

now if I could just spend my time cataloguing instead of reading this board and being tempted to buy more and more..............
