View Full Version : How do I do this?

I just finished this layout:

And I did all the text with a lot of annoying tabbing. Is there some way to wrap text that is easier? (and probably obvious...)

Thanks!
Andrea

Andrea, I canīt remember - do you use PSCS+ or elements?
If you use CS, I would definitely draw a selection and make it or a path (or just make a closed path), and then use your text tool to fill it out. This is how I made the text in the star:

I honestly donīt know how I would do this in elements.

I dunno, Andrea - but I love what you did with Traci's kit! That's awesome!

I use PSCS2. Hmmm, I think I might be able to do this. And this is helpful, because I always seem to be wanting to wrap text places. Now I need to figure out how to draw those odd shapes to fill up the space...

Thanks!

You can select the it a few ways-- for simple shapes (cookie cutter adobe shapes--select your shape tool and then go to the shape tool bar menu. You should see three different squares in a row. Click on the middle one with the little pen tool. Now go to the shape drop down menu and select the shape you want you "path" to be in. Go to your canvas and draw the shape. it will appear in a path. then go to your text tool in your palette and click your mouse within the path shape and your text should start to type in the shape. :) I hope that helps

Oh--and to do it in an odd shape you click on the shape tool, and in the shape tool bar the same square (with the pen in it), BUT instead of selecting a shape, you select the pen with the scwiggle dots by the tip. Then you draw your shape freehand with your mouse. Be sure to connect the ends. It becomes a path. Then you select the text tool and click in your drawn shape and it should type in that shape. Let me know if you need more help. ;)

I also remembered tha gina Miller had a lil tut up on her blog about it. It differs a bit, but the idea is the same and the results will be the same too! :)
