Pinching ribbon under a bow, have a ?

Ok, you know how you can pinch a ribbon with the liquify action in PSE 5, how can I get the screen to show both the ribbon and the bow together so I know just right were to pinch. I have tried everything to get it to show more then one layer at a time

Put a little marker using the brush tool on the canvas right above the ribbon in the place that you want to liquidify it. It will have to be on the same layer to work. Then erase the mark after you run the filter.

Wow, now why didn't I think of that LOL. Thanks a bunch. It's a shame you can't view/work with more then one layer in that area of action kwim.

you can also just make a rectangular selection around the area you want to pinch, make sure the ribbon is the active layer and use filter -> distort ->pinch!
