I'm here! I'm here! Woot woot putting on my semi-tarnished crown for the day! :lol

I just got back from taking my son to the gym and then out to buy his very first suit! That was momentous to be sure! He cuts a nice shape all grown up and serious looking hehehe. Now to do something about that hair! :eek

Anyway.....

Dianne, Help us get to know you by answering these 5 random questions!
1. What is your favorite tv show?

Are we talking like ALL TIME fav? OR just current fav? Well I'll just answer both. ALL TIME FAV has GOT to be the Carol Burnett Show. I know it ages me, but I loved that ad lib flavor that it had. I also have special memories of being allowed to stay up late to watch it and cuddling on the couch with my mom...before The Brother came along buahahahaha. Fav for right now is probably a toss up between Heroes and Lost....Heroes will probably win the toss up because I love little Hiro so much - he's so cute!

2. What is your favorite thing to cook?

Well right now we are not very inventive with our diet because it's pretty strict, pretty low fat, low carb, low salt....but I think if I look back it would have to be....nothing. I really don't like to cook! Ahahahaha. I do, however, like to EAT. My dh is the cook in our family and in his day he even made bread from scratch!

3. Share the biggest obstacle you have faced in your life.

Hehe JUST ONE? I think I will choose my weight. But really it wasn't my weight....it was a self defeatist attitude...I just thought I was destined to be fat. I didn't believe that my body would cooperate...I didn't believe I could conquer this demon of over eating. I didn't think I could enjoy excercising and that my body would cooperate and build muscle and get stronger. I didn't have the confidence to even try. I didn't have the confidence to excercise in public even. It's hard for me even to admit that, but it's important that I share. I have been working out and eating a careful diet for nearly five months now. I have lost 42 pounds and feel so much stronger. I hope that if there is anyone out there who thinks they can't do it that they can be inspired by this story. I still honestly have another 100 pounds to go...I know that's embarrassing, but I know I will get there. I know I can do it. And YOU can too. If I can do it.....ANYONE can do it!

4. Share your "designer story". How did you get started?

I was always interested in art, but thought of it more as a hobby kind of thing. As a child we were very poor and so I thought I couldn't or shouldn't choose that because it wouldn't be dependable. But I couldn't stop being who I am...who God made me....which is an artistic being lol. So it would bubble up in all sorts of areas....I became a dabbler. I have tried many many crafts and as I got older it just became a regular part of my self expression. After I had my daughter, I was pretty sick for a long while (still working on coming back from that) and so I couldn't craft and sew any longer the way I wanted to. I turned to the computer for a no muss no fuss way of being creative. I found the graphics community in 2001 (and my great friend Jenn Howland) and honed my "chops" lol as it were, on graphic linkware and share ware and eventually started doing that for money. Then I found digital scrapbooking and I was HOOKED. I had always wanted to be a scrapbooker but didn't have the energy for it. This was PERFECT. Of course my actual scrapping now has been sublimated to the design end of things, but I love love love it. I feel so empowered and confident and creative! I am so glad I found digi!

5. Who is YOUR favorite designer right now?

Well I am totally enamored of Tracy Robinson right now. I think she's gonna be like the next Michelle Coleman if she isn't already LOL. She's just so ON her game right now and I find myself working pretty hard to avoid her new product posts so that I don't get discouraged. I always know that when I see her stuff, I am gonna a.) want to buy it and b.) wish I had made it. ;-) I love her peekaboo stuff, dang it!
