I have a piece of dotted ribbon. Blue with white dots. I want to change the blue to black. I tried a couple different things but it didn't work. I have PSCS2. I'd appreciate any help.
TIA

I have PS7, not PSCS2, but are you able to select the blue with the magic wand tool and then adjust the hue/saturation/lightness to change it to black?

That's one of the things I tried Lisa. It did change the color, but I couldn't get it to go to black.

How about: Image>adjustments>replace color?

Ok. I didn't try that. Should I select the blue with the magic wand to do that or will it show me what to do when I start it? I'll have to wait until I get home tonight.

When you click the replace color option it gives you a color dropper to work with. Click on the blue area of your ribbon, then slide the lightness bar all the way to the left.

changing to black is easy --
SHIFT+CTRL+U removes color
CTRL+L - goes to Levels -- move the sliders around to get the amount of contrast you want

Thanks Christine! I'll try it that way too and see which is easier. I haven't done anything with levels. Soooo much to learn!

levels can be REALLY handy for giving a quick boost to your photos, too
