I thought I had FINALLY figured out how to use brushes....but then they disappeared! I loaded them into PSE3 yesterday, I used a couple...and now....THEY ARE GONE. I tried to load in a new set, and they're not there either. I even made sure I selected a specific "category".
HELP?!?!?! I need me some brushes!!!
Thanks.

Okay, so I tried it again, and it worked. Then I tried to load another set in. When I selected from the "more" list (so that I could specify which category the brushes would go into), it erased those brushes. What am I doing wrong???
I don't know PSE , but does it give you the option to APPEND instead of LOAD. APPEND in PSCS allows you to add on. if you load it gets rid of the one already there. Did that make sense?

where are they located physically on your hard drive?
they should be in
c:> program files/adobe/photoshop elements/presets/brushes
move or copy those puppies in there and then you can get them easily next time.
otherwise, you can always go find them somewhere else by using the little fly-out menu. check out my answer to a similar question here (http://www.thedigichick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6055&highlight=brushes)

Well, what I ended up doing was clicking the group of brushes and then hitting the "save" option and saving them. I haven't double-checked to make sure they did in fact stay....but I'm hoping. Thanks for the help...if my thing doesn't work out, I'm comin' back! :)

Yes, saving them is what you have to do. I don't have a huge arsenal of brushes, so I manually move all .abr files into my Presets/Brushes folder. Then, they all load when PSE starts up. But, I can see where this will become an issue as I acquire more. Will have to set up folders for each designers' brushes and just load them as I need them, I guess.
