View Full Version : What are your other hobbies?

Specifically crafts... but anything else too.
I'm too addicted to this right now to actually keep up with any other hobbies! I really like any craft thing.
I know how to cross-stitch and crochet, but I haven't done either of those for EVER.
I like to sew. I was making a quiet book for my daughter for church, but again, it's been put on hold (umm for far too long) while I scrap away. For some reason I feel like I can't start any other project until I get more scrapping done and for some reason, I can't work on 2 different projects at a time!
As far as hobbies that aren't crafts, I really like to read and I have been able to do that lately. We also like to go to movies (is that a hobby?) but with 2 little ones, that doesn't happen much.

I'm lucky enough to have a huge craft room in the basement, which houses all my stuff. I love doing almost anything crafty. I still paper scrap, do lots of paper-crafts (make cards, rubber stamp, etc), sew/quilt, bead (I have a beaded jewelry business), I'm trying to teach myself to knit, polymer clay...
I think those are the main ones. I like to cross stitch, but I am SO SLOW!! Which reminds me, I have a Christmas stocking pattern that I had better start yesterday if I want it to be finished this year.

I used to do a lot more crafting but with 2 kids, a hubby, and a full-time job, there isn't as much down time as I used have. Now I stick to scrapping, reading, and cooking (since I have to cook anywaaaay).

I love to bead! I sortof have a beaded jewelry business too. (Check out my blog in my sig...scroll to the first and second posts!) ANYWAY! That's pretty much all I do besides digiscrap! I'd love to do more, but I just don't! :) My dream is to one day open a bead shop.
Oh, and I guess it's a hobby...I LOVE to take pictures! You will never catch me without my camera nearby!

I like to cross stitch, crochet & quilt, though I admit it has been quite some time since I did any of those things.
I like to bake bread, which I have been doing more regularly lately, though I'll go longish periods where I don't.
Mostly though I read. I read a great deal. Historical mysteries are my favorite. I was reminded 2 weeks ago, that despite my love of digi scrapping, I am reader first and a scrapper second. I had an entire weekend alone in the house adn woke up Saturday morning thinking "Great I'll be able to work on a couple layouts, update my blog, work on some word art, and get some tagging in ACDSee done before the males get home Sunday night." Two hours and one new layout later I was in the library, checking out a half dozen books and spent the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday reading. I'm now re-reading a series I read about 8 years ago and have another bunch from a different series waiting. I've done 2 layouts since then. :)

LOL, I don't have time for any other hobby. I spend my free time digi-scrapping :)

Craft-wise, I like to quilt. Haven't done it in SO long though! *blush*
Otherwise, I love to read and garden. They are my 2 biggies. Those, combined with digi scrapping, I do as much as possible.
Mainly knitting. I knit a lot of sweaters for my boys. Then I take pictures of them wearing the sweaters. Then I scrap the pictures. It's a great hobby that feeds into my scrapping hobby. :)
I miss stamping and making cards but I have no time/space/money to do it!

Read. Read. Read.
I love books. I would be as happy as a kid in a candy store if I could spend my every waking moment on a soft couch in the library.
Other than that I love to grow roses, crochet and knit. Those are my other favorite things to do besides digi-scrap.

There are other hobbies?! :lol
I have to admit that most of my free time is spent in activities related to digi scrapping in some way :)
but I do love to read! I also cross-stitch and sew (or at least I used to) and I like to work on decorating and organizing my house.

does sleep count? actually, I love to read. non-fiction, fiction, cereal boxes. whatever. I read alot. I have a major magazine habit as well.
I can totally relate to Stacey42's response. I go in and out of cycles. Right now I'm scrapping more than reading and then that will flip one day and I'll be reading all the time and get no layouts done. I did that in March. I look back at my layout folder for March and I have 3 done...all quick pages!!!!!

I love to sew and quilt, but I can't seem to pry myself off the computer, so I just made some quilt themed scrapping templates (http://www.gottapixel.net/boutique/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=360). :)
I also enjoy baking--cookies and cakes espcially!

I collected NRFB collectible Barbies, & did counted cross stitch before I began paper scrapbooking. I collected Department 56 Snow Village for a couple of years but it's all been packed away for 5 years now.
This spring I began buying beads & a few of the tools. I hope to take a beading class at Michael's in the near future.
I also read & love listening to audiobooks.

hmmm.. besides digiscrappin'?? Well.. I like to do lots of crafts, I have a craft/scrap room, but i don't paper scrap anymore, so -- i guess i have lots of free table space now! I use to stamp, but just listed a bunch on ebay.. so.. hmm.. what's left.. I would *love* to learn to sew someday, but not now..
I am learning how to dabble in jewelry, and also making fabric covered nightlights, those are fun.
I love to home decorate - Is that a hobby??
I use to make soap and lotion for a hobby, but now it's my ft business, with my shop.. so i guess it really doesn't qualify as a hobby anymore!

I love to bead, quilt, sew, read, make hair bows, and crochet
I like to knit, crochet, sew, garden, read and work on my house. Right now I'm crocheting my first ripple afgan for my baby niece. I really want to do some embrodery & beading eventually.
I love to work on the computer, but I must share mine :), so I do have plenty of free time to work on my other hobbies.

Well, I wouldn't really call this crafty (cause it's not), BUT if I'm not digiscrapping in my free time, then I'm reading a good novel or playing the piano. Of course, there's not much free time left after life happens!

I've painted a few murals, which is very cool but takes me forever. It's been a little over a year since I finished the last one. Any job I take has to come with built-in child care, so that makes it a bit tricky.

I've also done pencil portraits from photos, bookbinding, and crocheting. These days about the only "extra" thing I get to do (besides designing and scrapping, and taking lots of pictures) is a little reading in bed before I fall asleep.

I love hobbies- especially art and craft type stuff. But really, the only ones I do lately are photography and scrapbooking :blush
But I also love drawing, painting, cards, wood crafts (any crafts), decorating, party planning. I dabble in sewing and knitting type things. I also love to read and have been trying to make more time for that, because for a long time I hadn't read any actual books! Music too, I play the guitar a little and love to sing...
I have little ones too, and digiscrapping and photography are nice and contained so that I can easily do them here and there without having to pull out a lot of supplies and make a big mess!
