Ok I have two different questions regarding printing...

*First is what type of paper do you use when printing out your digi layouts, do you normally use photo paper (matte or glossy), a thicker scrapbooking paper or regular ole printer paper?

*Second for those that have printed out digi papers to use on a paper project what type of paper did you print it on?

--I have always printed out my digi layouts on glossy photo paper not for any other reason then I assumed that would look best and that is what I had in my photo printer (which is the printer I have used to print them).

-- and as for printing to use in a paper project I have yet to do this but am getting the itch to.

Thanks for any insite!

So far, I've only printed out two of my layouts and they were actually printed at Sams - which uses a matte finish, and I really loved how they came out. So..since I know nothing else - it's my best formed opinion!! LOL

I just got a big batch of LO's printed on cardstock paper and loved how they came out!! When I print at home, I use the Epson heavyweight matte paper.

Good question! What do you do when you want to print something to use on an altered project? You don't want cardstock, but you don't want printer paper either? KWIM?

exactlly Jaime! That is kind of where I am stumped..

I asked the first question more for curiosity and to see if there is anything new and fab that I didn't know about but the altered printing I was hoping someone would know. :)

I will have to try the matte next time I print a layout too!

My favorite paper for printing my layouts at home is BY FAR HP's Premium Plus photo paper in Soft Gloss. I only seem to be able to find it at Staples, so it's not as easy to find maybe as some others, but it's a nice heavy weight and a great finish.

I have a large format HP 1220C I use the HP 13x19 photo paper in the matte finish. My LOs look awesome on this paper. (I get it direct from HP.com because no one local carries it.

I bought a package of "JetPrint Photo, Imaging & Photo Paper" just to use for printing stuff for altered projects. Even though I wish it was slightly heavier, so far I have been really happy with my results.

I don't print a lot of layouts at home, but I think I've sampled almost every brand on the market. I used to prefer matte for photos or layouts, but now I'm on a glossy kick! I just bought an Epson recently so I picked up a package of Epson Premium Glossy. I love it!

I print my layouts in 8x8 on either Kodak Professional or Kodak Ultima Picture Paper. If it is not for my album then I use Kodak Picture Paper or cardstock or regular printer paper.

thanks ladies I will have to add those to my list to try...

So many options too bad there isn't anywhere to buy a Smapler pack with different papers to use for this specific task. :)

Thanks for asking this.........I've been wondering for the longest time what to print digital paper on if you want to use it in altered projects. I've just been buying Basic Grey, etc. from the LSS when I have tons of digikits that I've purchased....

I know that Holly is "The Altered Queen" - at least in my eyes, so I am happy to see her answer.

I love Kodak Premium matte. Office Depot has it buy one get one free quite often.

I use a soft or semi - gloss paper from either HP, Kodak or Jet-Print. For altered project printing I use Jet-print Imaging matte paper. I love the results I get with my HP printer.
