how to mark threads read

everytime I hit "new posts" I get about 500, newer ones at the beginning, but then a line comes up to break them up saying this threads have been read, but, may have new posts to them....I just want the new posts to come up, any clue how to do this??

I posted about this very same problem a while ago, and somebody posted that I should go under Quick Links above and click on the "Mark Forums Read" option.

Works like a charm!
