I sold all my old lenses to help fund the 5D so at the moment, I only have the 24-105L. But that's a very nice only lens to have. :)

When I had the XT and four lenses (18-55 kit, 70-300 Sigma APO, 60mm macro, 50mm 1.8) I was similar to Tracie - only took the lens I needed. Most of the time I just left the 60mm on it, or the Sigma for places like the zoo. The kit and 50mm rarely made it on to the camera.

I'm generally an Av shooter since I care most about the DOF, but I'll shoot anything from full auto to full manual (for both the body and lens) depending on what the shot needs.

BTW Lisa - what do you think of the 200mm? I saw some nice shots with it over on your blog. It's the next lens I'm thinking about picking up because I want a small(ish) prime tele. Then I begin saving for the beasty 100-400 that I'm lusting over.

1. how many lenses do you have? 5
2. which lenses do you have? 18-50mm, 28-90mm, 50mm, 70-300mm, 55-200mm(soon to add 2 more, 85mm & 100mm)
3. when you go out with your camera, do you take ALL of your lenses? yes
4. are you an automatic or manual shooter with your camera/lens? Manual shooter with the camera, and for lenses it depends, mostly auto focus on lenses though! It's so much easier when photographing kids!

lauren, i really like the 200mm. i got it for taking shots of my kids doing their sports. it's great for taking shots from the sidelines or bleechers, you can still get upclose, without getting up close kwim? and still get that dof. it's great!
oh! i recently used it for a wedding i did. it was at a time when i could not get close to the couple, and was still able to get some intimate shots.

i forgot to mention that the zoom lens is a sigma. the 50mm is on most of the time, and the 200mm when i am outdoors. but i want a more inbetween lens, like the 85mm. i think that would be good. i have a few more lenses on my to get list: the 70-200mm f/2.8L, the 85mm, and a wide angle lens. can person have too many? i should be set then though. lol!

[1]how many lenses do you have? um... 6 I think
[2]which lenses do you have? 2 18-55s, 28-90, 50mm, 85mm, 70-300
[3]when you go out with your camera, do you take ALL of your lenses? no. I take what I know I will be using- so focal lengths are similar and pointless to lug around for certain shoots.
[4]are you an automatic or manual shooter with your camera/lens?Always manual on camera- lenses- it all depends on what my subject is :)

What a great find. My old camera packed it in last weekend (tooo many photos!) and so I bought a 30D..wahooo (just a lil excited..LOL)

I have spent lots of my spare time looking at lenses this week. It came with the standard 18 - 55 but I am about to order the 55 1.8.... and yes.. I will lug them around.. to shoots, probably not just happy snaps at the park.

Look forward to reading everyones posts!

1. how many lenses do you have? three (don't care for one of them) and am getting ready to buy another
2. which lenses do you have? 18-55mm (don't like this one), 50mm/1.8, 35mm-90mm (this is the one normally on the camera), am getting ready to buy a 28mm-135mm
3. when you go out with your camera, do you take ALL of your lenses? No. The most I've ever taken out is two - I don't like changing out lenses outside.
4. are you an automatic or manual shooter with your camera/lens? It varies but the lens is always set to autofocus.
