I am turning my rebel on in (M) Manual mode.

My aperture settings, & ISO, etc aren't showing up on the LED.

Has anyone had this happen? If you did, what did you do? If you didn't... what do you suggest?

My toggle IS working, but my aperture is not showing up (aka not letting me set it).

TIA for ideas, helps, encouragement. Eeek!~G

Ooh, I haven't heard of this one... so I'm going to have to give you the camera equivalent of "restart Windows" which is disconnect the lens and remove the battery, make sure there's nothing on the contacts which could be causing a problem, then reconnect both and see if it makes a difference.

Actually, I have had something similar when using a Sigma lens (can't remember what it did, but I know I couldn't set anything) and what I suggested above fixed it. Never had a problem with it again.

I did what you suggested, and unfortunately it didn't do anything.

The called tech support and the guy at Canon told me I could ship it to them... and they would email me w/ the diagnosis and price and it would be on its way back to me in a mere 7-10 business days, after it was repaired. Yeah right.

Can you imagine being w/o your camera for that long? I would rather go w/o an arm or a leg for that amount of time! LOL!

Have you tried switching the AF/MF button back and forth a few times? Sometimes it doesn't catch right away.

So when you look into the View finder, it isn't showing your settings at all? Wierd -- does it show it on other settings?

You might want to post at http://www.dpreview.com/. Someone there might have some additional ideas.

Good luck w/getting this resolved quickly.
