I'm going to a movie for rest time today - my last free weekend before we really kick in for school, and DH is kicking me out to go escape for a bit..and these are my two choices...have you seen either of them? Which would YOU choose?

Stardust

Becoming Jane

Ohh, tough choice!! I have heard great things about both of them. I have not seen either one, so I don't want to vote. But let us know what you choose, and enjoy your day!!! :)

Boy that's a tough one. I didn't vote because A, it would depend on which started at the best time LOL and B, what kind of mood I was in. I want to see both :)

Ooh, not even a choice for me. I love Neil Gaiman and enjoyed the novel Stardust very much.

I didn't get a chance to read it, Cindy - but I think it's going to be my choice. I dont' get to see them often, and I'd hate not to see it on big screen because it looks a feast for the eyes..and I can see Jane on DVD without a problem.

This is what I call a win win ... both are on my must see lists, so with that in mind ...

Becoming Jane --- a definite chick flick, so as you're seeing this alone, it would be my top choice.

Stardust --- 2nd pick ... DH and kids would like to see it too, so I'd save it for when we do a 'family-type' outing.

... enjoy your well-deserved ME time Darcy girl!!!

Not knocking Becoming Jane because I'm sure I'd like it, but Stardust is more my type of movie. :)

They both look sooo good. I would really like to see both. Hmm, we are going to see a movie today but I don't think I'd make the kids sit through Becoming Jane.

I voted for Stardust cuz I saw it last week and LOVED it! Totally was not what I was expecting. The previews I saw made it look like a fantasy film so I was expecting a more serious Narnia-type of fantasy. But it's totally not. It's very much a comedy. Less Narnia, and more a fun, tongue-in-cheek à la Princess Bride type of deal. I laughed and laughed and laughed. . . .Two thumbs up from me :)

I've seen both and they are both really good! If you're in the mood for more action and a fun escape, go with Stardust. If you want a total chick flick love story, go with Becoming Jane.

Dude - I saw Stardust - EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Film. I'll probably go see it again in 2 weeks when we have a date night scheduled so DH can see it :) He'll love it.

Thanks for everyone's input!!!

<sigh> I hope it's still out in two weeks when the kids go to school. Maybe I can take in a matinee...it sounds wonderful.

It'll definitely be out, Cindy - there's no way it'll go away that quickly. Or if you have to, tell DH to keep the kids on evening and go see it by yourself <GRIN>

I've seen both, and they are BOTH good! But I voted Stardust--it's a great adventure/love story! Becoming Jane is a bit of a tear-jerker. ;)

Isn't Stardust fantastic? I had read the book and was just amazed that they managed to capture all the fun, adventure and romance so effectively. My husband and I saw it last week, and we'll be going back again (and we're OLD!!!) :-)
