we had fish n chips... or if you want to get really technical... we had some gorton's fish sticks and frozen french fries cooked on the same cookie sheet in the oven. EASY is the only thing i can do when the 1 year old wants to stand in the kitchen and scream the whole time i'm cooking (which is most nights when my husband is out of town... which has been most of the summer)

I'm so jonesing for autumn that I made clam chowder bowls....mmmm. I love that crusty warm from the overn sourdough bread bowl with some butter on it. Filled with progresso clam chowder with frozen corn added while it cooked. Kenzie loves the sweet corn in it.

I can't wait for fall to get here!

Well I spent the afternoon at the hospital with my sister because my poor 2-year old nephew has an upper-respiratory infection and needed xrays. So after that we came back to my place (where my DH was watching my daughters and her younger son) and just ordered in from The Yardhouse (http://www.yardhouse.com/). I had the (mac & cheese)2. It is the most amazing mac & cheese dish ever. Look at this description:

roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, wild mushrooms, cheddar and parmesan cheese with castellane pasta and white truffle oil.

mmmmmm good. It's the only place where I never leave my leftovers. I always bring them home and I always finish them off. I don't waste any of it.

I hope your nephew is ok! My "princess" is like that with colds. How sweet of you to go sit with her!!

LMAO about finishing up your leftovers! I bet it was yummy :)

We had spaghetti with meatballs and sauteed garlic spinach. However, I am wishing we had had margaritas with a little salt! Maybe for dinner tomorrow night?

DH reffed basketball so we all went with him at the last minute.

When we got home the kids had macaronni cheese with franks and after they went to bed I made pad thai for me and DH. Kind of an impromptu date night.

Was nice, now he is studying...

Darn! This post is still near the top of page 1 and I am already thinking about what I will have for breakfast this morning and what I will make for dinner tonight. Aaargh - - in my next life I want to be the man!

We had the Thai inspired pineapple-shrimp fried rice - - one of DH's favorites. It is delicious, so if you are interested, you can find the recipe HERE (http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=156968&cat=11706). It was the only thing I actually had all the ingredients for - - I was missing one ingredient for everything else I thought about. This planning a meal everyday thing gets old! All I know is tonight's dinner plans involve me not cooking!

Shannon, I have never heard of the Yard House, so I just had to follow your link because it sounded so yummy. Of course, I had to check out the locations :) If I cannot hit one of the Denver, Phoenix, or San Diego locations next month then shame on me! ;)

We went to a little Mediterranean restuaraunt. DH had a grilled chicken salad and I shared a dinner plate with the kids with lots of hummus and pita bread. Yum.

Last night we had fish and chips because I couldn't be bothered making anything else. Tonight we're supposed to be having steak, but my last two attempts have not been good (what is up with UK meat lately - anyone else over here having problems??) so it may end up being lasagne... again!
