Just a note to designers wanting more info or thinking about updating your terms. There's a great website to check out at http://dsd-professionals.com/stoui/

I think it would be a lot less confusing if we all were on the same page when it comes to definitions of terms and such...lots of TOU's are pretty ambiguous (yes, we actually read them!) LOL! anyway, just hoping to help out here. And keep on posting your S4O friendly status!

Thanks!

I'm sure that would be nice but not all of us have the same ideas as to terms and conditions to do a uniform TOU. Some want credit, some don't. I have certain terms for my S4H clause, others don't, I include credits in my TOU for stuff that pertains to my designs, others don't or they have different credits. Some have short and sweet, I cover everything so that no one has to guess just what they can or can't do with my designs.

That's exactly the reason the stou initiative is so great. They have a wide variety of set of terms and all of it is customizable. It's just a nice graphical format that makes it easy for consumers to understand what they're buying. That's all...just to cut through the confusion. We aren't trying to twist anyone's arm or change their terms. Just a clarification of what exactly is meant by commercial use, professional use, etc. The STOUI program is just a fairly simple method of making it easy for consumers to interpret your specific terms so we all understand each other. Sorry if my first post sounded like I was pushing for people to change their terms. (though as a professional scrapbooker I'm not going to complain if anyone does decide to allow s4o use!)

Hope that clarified my intentions for my post anyway.

I totally agree.... I know there is a bit of a push to "standardize" TOUs but I think it is unrealistic. People are just going to have to keep reading them and stop assuming that all designers feel the same way about how people use their art.

At Designer Digitals (http://www.designerdigitals.com/ecom/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Lynn+Grieveson&x=0&y=0), all my designs are available for S40. For the recent designs it is really easy to purchase the appropriate license for a small extra charge - just select it from the drop down menu.

If you wish to purchase a product that does not have the s40 option displayed (because it is something we brought in recently), then just contact me.

I've just recently (within the last few days) gone S4H/S4O friendly, no additional fee required, no quickpages/ploppers, and limited printing on professional crafter items (candy wrappers, stationery, etc). My New TOU isn't up on my blog yet (it will be though), but you can take a look at it here: http://studioincognitodesigns.com/pages/athena_tou.pdf

I'll be posting that on each of my products as well from here on out, just so people know whether the product is or is not S4O friendly. It will take me a bit to edit my older product descriptions though, so if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM :)

All designers are invited and encouraged to sign up on the Didi-Designing For Others blog in our Resource Designer Directory (http://digid4o.com/blog/?page_id=4). We also have a forum (http://digid4o.com/forums/index.php) where you can post product updates and sales. Fellow professional scrappers and crafters are also encouraged to join the forum (http://digid4o.com/forums/index.php) and list their businesses on this directory (http://digid4o.com/blog/?page_id=5).

They have had to move to approving memberships manually due to spammers and some web based email domains are causing some trouble, so please grant them a little patience and grace if you're trying to get registered on the blog or the forum. And don't give up! Thanks!

I recently started making all my products s4h friendly also! No extra fee's! I have tweaked my TOU and also include a little "scrapped" professional use license w/ each product! Just click on my blinkie to go to my store!

Anything that I created b4 November does NOT have the little license or the tweaked TOU, but if anyone purchases any of those products, just email or PM me and I'll glady send the ytweaked TOU and the license!:) Our store just added a new scrap4hire section this week so not all my products are in there, but anything I make in the future will go in there!

Glad to see so many s4h friendly designers! I bookmarked this thread and will be checking here first when I do my digi shopping!

My products are S4Os, small craft businesses, and web design friendly! Download my TOU here (http://strawberrywinedesigns.com/strawberrywinedesignstermsofuse.zip).

My product delivery is a little bit different however as a subscription site with many advantages. This venue is the perfect way to present ideas to your clients so they can choose what they'd like for you to use out of an extensive variety of products--just bring them to the catalog to browse! I've also started recently providing all papers in 2 sizes, 12x12 and 8.5x11 for those of you who print at home. As I get the time, all older products will have this size added to the catalog.

I know subscription sites have gotten a bum rap lately, but my subscriptions are on a monthly basis and for the amount of product you receive, the value is not matched any where else on the 'web so you KNOW you're receiving ALL of your money's worth! I add to the catalog at the rate of 2 new product lines a month.

You can view all of my products available for immediate download today here on this page (http://www.strawberrywinedesigns.com/allprod.html), and a more in depth explanation of the subscription experience here on this page (http://www.strawberrywinedesigns.com/subscribe.html). I just recently added this product to the catalog (only showing the 8.5x11 here to save space, papers come in 12x12 also.):

I require a one time fee. Then everything you have bought or buy afterwards is good for S4H.

I offer a limited commercial use license for a low one-time fee of $20 to use my products for small business owners, including scrap for hire and photographers, provided you credit me on your website or invoice, and that customers receive only the printed final products. The link to my store is in my sig.

I just wanted to make mention that my most up to date terms (http://www.digitalscrapbook.com.au/designtou/index.php?method=showdetails&list=advertisement&rollid=12&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=11) are at Designer TOU (http://www.digitalscrapbook.com.au/designtou)as are a whole bunch of other designers tou's. For those of you haven't heard of it before Designer TOU is a new site, a central place for scrappers and designers alike to find the TOU of Scrapbook Designers, Resource Designers and Font designers and it also contains a listing of Designers and their websites.

Designers, make sure you add your listing as a form of free advertising and a great service for your customers to always have access to your most up to date TOU in a central place. Saves them going searching for your TOU on blogs, and store websites etc. You can keep your TOU up to date at all times as you have the ability to edit your listings at any time.

It has only been open a very short while and already many designers have added their listings. Make sure yours is one of them! :-)

I've just changed my Terms of Use (http://www.heart2heartdesigns.com/tou) to allow S4H, S4O, and professional use without fees or notification. Good luck to all of you wonderful designers out there!

Ok... I have finally had a look at this and have decided to go with the S4H and Craft friendly. So I am in the process of changing my TOU now.

And thanks to the STOUI website. :)
